I find it a little pricey. 2400 CC are 17€, + a minimum of eight additional euros (for 2x 450 CC) to get it unlocked on all accounts, makes 25€. Thats roughly double the price of one month of subscription. In World of Wacraft the mounts you can buy for real money cost 20€ and are available to all your characters by default (and even that I find pricey, considering that the game requires a subscription by default).

SWTOR kinda gets away with it thanks to the fact that you can buy all the mounts on the GTN. Regardless, I don't like the prices.

You think they're going to sell the Rancor for 13500 CC? Really?

Sssssh don't give them ideas. If it's going to be like this though, they can keep their pixels. Getting to the point where it's getting really hard to justify paying for pixels...because one day, it'll all be gone like smoke, when they decide there isn't enough money coming and shut the doors.

If you are willing to pay 2,400 cc for a mount for one character why wouldn't you pay at least 2,400 cc to unlock it on all other characters?

The underlying point being the more alts you have the cheaper the deal.

It is interesting to note the sort of prices the unlocks are set at in the collections system. The biggest factor seems to be some attempt at preserving the sense of rarity.

Most of the 6/7 piece armour sets sit at the 360 cc unlock point (this is on top of the original cost to purchase) and I have unlocked many just to get a specific belt, gloves, boots etc...

Whereas a single headslot piece can be anything upwards of 450 cc to unlock.

Of course you get far more use out of armour unlocks as you can cater to the dress up needs of all the companions not just the character.

Same in Elder Scrolls Online. Buy the horse, every character can unlock it at level 1 for 1g.

I had always thought 600 was pricey, but now I see they've bumped it up to 800, which in my thinking is exorbitant. Does anyone else find this a bit much? I for one would buy more unlocks if they were a touch cheaper Especially for people who pay a sub. I think our unlocks should be discounted a bit better. For free to play the prices are fine, because they're not paying anything, but when you're putting out for a sub every month, and they charge that much for unlocks, it isn't right.

Thoughts?
While they do get the unlock prices set oddly on an unlock here and there.... they do in fact have a general forumula that is fairly predictable -----> Items direct purchased from the CM for CCs... the unlock price = 1 third of CC sales price in the CM. so an item they sell for a list price (sales prices are not a factor) of 2400CC will unlock for 800.

If the items are itemized inside Cartel Packs.. then it's a bit harder to tell.. though they appear to have an unlock price that corresponds roughly to drop rate... IE: "actual" rarity level (I say this because there are multiple different drop rates with the "rare" and "super rare" items. "Rare" appear to unlock for between 60 and 200 and super rares appear to unlock for between 300 and 600. Actual unlock price appears to be also related to the number of items in a set you are unlocking as well.

Dude.. come back to the planet. The rancor will likely sell for either 2400 or 3000. The unlock price will be sell_price/3 (unless they bork up the pricing table).
