To which I will say that they shouldn't have to wait hours on end in a queue with no indication of their placement.
Knowing your place in the que won't always help. If you have been someone that trolls a lot or that has made a lot of people upset with you (ie for some reason a lot of people have put you on ignore) you can be first up in the que and still have a long wait as you get bypassed. If someone has you on their ignore list ( like a lot of tanks or healers say) you wont get grouped with them. Not saying this is the problem all the time just trying to get people aware that their actions in game can affect their wait time. This problem can really be prominent for a dps that bad mouths tanks/healers or even a dps that pulls a lot.

Look how this works:

Server 1 queue: 10 DPS 2 tanks 2 healers
Server 2 queue: 10 DPS 2 tanks 2 healers

Combine them: 20 DPS 4 tanks 4 healers

It will do nothing for FP queue times imo. So we should stop fooling ourselves in thinking that cross server queues will actually do anything to the wait times. As a DPS you just have to accept the fact that more people rather play those classes than Tank and Healer. If you don't like that fact then roll a Tank or Healer.
wrong for a number of reasons.

If I would be a PvP Player, then absolutely! Yes please.

But since I quit PvPing a long long time ago, I play PvE only, and as a PvE Player I say hell no to Cross Server Stuff. Too many Idiots, so I rather go with People from my Guild and / or from my Friendlist.

That logic seems sound to me. Care to elaborate on some of those "number of reasons"?

It doesn't matter what server you are on, or even if you take a cross-section of them all. There will always be more DPS on and LFG via the GF than there will be Tanks/Healers who are also LFG via the GF.

Adding to the pool of tanks and healers by opening up cross-server will naturally add to the pool of DPS. It really is quite simple math.

Apparently that number is zero.

Just going to respond to the idea in the OP title

No. Please no. This is one of those things that IMO ruined WoW.

Ruined WoW? Maybe for you, but overall WoW still is doing well. And in my opinion it is ruining SWTOR not to having it.

Perhaps I should rephrase and elaborate a little bit.

It's one of the main things that I feel contributed to a community that has gotten worse and worse since it was introduced to WoW. I like that servers have their own identity, that what you do as a part of that server community means something.

Yea, I know queue times kinda suck for most dps right now, but I'd rather have to wait a while in queue than have to deal with the increase in trolling, griefing, and general d-baggery that comes along with cross-server queues.

Cross server would be great. Especially for PVP. And yes, when it comes to PVE there is still the problem of a poor ratio of tanks and healers to dps, however, it's AWESOME in the other MMOs I play that allow me to group up with friends on another server. Need a healer? Well great, I have a friend on that other server with a well geared one that isn't locked to our content.
