It was not because I didn't get the response I wanted, it was because I didn't get (and still haven't) got any response at all from BW. Having said that, though I admit it may not have been the wisest course of action, at the time I was extremely frustrated, and still am.

When you use the official fora to communicate with a company, followed up be several PM's, and you get absolutely no response whatsoever, what is a person supposed to do? Even me derailing threads and challenging another person to report it hasn't had any effect.

In all honesty, we have a consumer affair show on TV here that just LOVES the sort of customer service that BW sometimes (fails) to deliver. Its kept the show running for 30+ years, and companies that appear on it frequently come out looking very bad.

As I've said before, the lack of response from BW has, imo, overshadowed the original problem.

Not at all. Populates planets a tad more, meaning I am more likely to get Heroics done. And I can skip the trash quests that aren't class story or planet story(?) or whatever it's referred too. And there are some planets I'd like to skip all together so I can level up quickly and move on to the next planet, I'm talking about you Balmorra.

I can see the arguement against it though. Some people don't want to over level or feel like they are being spoon fed, gotta be big boys and grind it out. But all in all I enjoy them. I've only actually been able to fully participate in the most recent Double xp weekend because I almost always work weekends and I was sick this weekend so I played a little when I wasn't manning the toilet.

The reason I hate double XP weekends is that people are leveling their lowbies instead of being on their 55 which means that queues are much longer (it took me 1 hour to get a random HM on my heals during this last weekend) and that there is barely no ops.

Nothing to do with the fact that you are leveling faster.

But have you wondered, why are they on their lowbies?

Because they want to. Nothing to do with Bioware. And in fact, thanks to 2XP, they end up spending less time leveling the same character - thus more time at 55.
What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence of the Sith race and the Sith people, the glory of our children and the purity of our blood, the freedom and independence of the Empire, so that we may fulfill the mission allotted us by the Force itself. Everything must be examined from this point of view and used or rejected according to its utility.

Can't say I haven't entertained that idea. Its like being thrown to the dogs when you first start lvl 55 warzones with crappy PVE gear.

I can't really say I hate 2XP, I like it when I'm at Ch 3 when I'm just about worn out from playing that character and just want it to be lvl 55. However, I don't like it that often and I don't really like leveling so fast on my lowbie characters.

Oh, coming in crappy pre-55 PvE gear into a 55 WZ isn't even half bad. You're just a tiny bit below the PvPers and better off than PvErs in better gear that suffer a penalty for it - the better your gear, the worse you do.

You should have seen it in pre-bolster days, when someone walking in without PvP gear would just get one-shot. Now what people mean by "one-shot" nowadays, when they mean they were dotted up, didn't cleanse, stunned, didn't break, didn't cleanse or use medpac after stun, fought back, and were finished off by a thoroughly built-up big attack. Literal one-shot where you run to the node one second and the next see a "return to medcenter" window.

Huh? It only means more lvl 55 alts but it's still the same person behind the screen. So it doesn't mean more people to play with. Whether you are on your Vanguard or on your Gunslinger, I don't care as long as you queue for that flashpoint or are up to fill an op.

And let's be clear, I am not mad at anyone. If people take the chance to level their alts, good for them, I am not going to dictate how they should play the game to suit my needs.

But I'm still free to hate the consequence of those double XP weekends and explain how they ruin mine.

It means they spend less time leveling and more time at 55.

People who hit 2XP hard are people who want a new 55, not people who want to walk casually through class and planetary stories.

Let's say it takes between 45 and 90 hours to level a new alt (without extreme speedleveling). With double XP, it takes between 25 and 60. Someone leveling a new class will level them to 55 either way. The 20-30 hours difference is another 20-30 hours they'll be playing at 55 instead of lowbies.

We really need an opt out, I know some people will never understand why, but not everyone wants to level that fast. There are lots of different ways too play this game, not everyone enjoys it the same way.

There are MORE than enough complaints to warrant an opt out as a necessity.

p.s.People may not understand why some want the option. But We don't understand why the idea of having the option upsets you so much?

I think what some players want is something like the Stone of the Tortoise from LOTRO. This would allow them to moderate their XP gain anytime, not just during Double-XP Weekend. And, yes, the Stone is sold through the LOTRO store ... so BW could make money off the idea.
