At this point I'm probably more interested in why people get their panties in a twisty, knotty wad over such a non-issue. It weird, and a little creepy, how hyperbolic and over the top some of the folks who post on MMO forums can get.
You may think class changes is a non-issue, but I assure that it is a very big issue.

If it were not a big issue, we would not have countless threads, including this 430+ page thread, asking for them.

Yep, we need this is the most resonable petition in the forums.

Advanced Class Respec is a MUST, even if costs credits.

I haven't checked to be absolutely certain, but this thread is probably about a dozen or so people arguing back and forth, with some one or two-shot posters thrown in for seasoning. I can assure you its not a big issue.

If it's not a big issue, then there is no reason to allow class changes.

Neither would there be a good reason to oppose them

There have been many reasons given in the countless threads on this topic as to why class changes should not be allowed. A simple forum search would provide you with plenty of reading material so that you can familiarize yourself with those reasons.

In the end, we already have the means to play any new class we wish to play. All it takes is a modicum of time and effort to actually level that new class.

In the end, they all boil down to 'I don't want you to be able to play that way'. I've seen (and participated in a fair few of) the threads.

None of which I have a problem with. I have a (tentative) plan that would get me to 16 characters - counting both factions - on my current server. I don't have a problem leveling or investing time into something.

You could say that the demands for class changes boil down to "I'm too lazy to level a new class, so I want one handed to me" and the arguments against class changes boil down to "some things should be earned and new classes are one of those things".
