Spamming invites is like walking into a bar, walking up to every girl you think is pretty and asking them to have sex.

On the other end, if one says yes, by all that's good and holy, don't sleep with her.

Nothing easy to attain is worth having.
I'd like to sit down with the guy responsible for having Busta Rhymes fight Michael Myers in HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION. Then, before he could speak, I would slap him so hard his face would explode and his dog would die." - Jim Law

I have to say, since I found myself on Korriban again today (time for character number 13, after cheaply aquiring a char slot in the GTN!) I find myself slightly bemused by the amount of characters just sitting there and asking for help. There was this one guy in particular, that asked from when I started out at level one until I was done with the planet, without ever moving from his spot... just constant "Can someone help me with (last class quest for the inquisitor)??" every other minute. He was level 7 at that point, so I presume that he ignored all quests but the class quests.
Took me two hours to be completely done with Korriban and he didn't move from his spot near the Academy entrance the whole time. I really don't get this mentality...

I mean... you usually ask for help to be done faster, no? So whats the thought process behind remaining put for two hours? That's not being faster. He was, in fact, considerably slower than me. I don't get it.
'Twas right, said they, such birds to slay
that bring the fog and mist

The Mitharr Legacy - Way too many characters to name here.
EU - The Progenitor

I've seen something like the underleveled trooper on Coruscant before. Actually... who knows, it might have even been the same person. Where did I see that...? I was blasting through content with a friend, but was that on our Harbinger characters or our Red Eclipse characters...?

Anyway, I've also seen the kind of situations where someone is still asking for help on the same thing a couple hours after I first see their call for help in the chat. Usually it's heroics (and I didn't offer to help because of not being that far into the planet yet and/or being so over-leveled for the planet that they might get shorted on xp if I joined them) but I've seen the level 6 or 7 starter planet final mission types too. Either way, you do your own thing and you get a bunch of things completed and then you see that they're still in the same place an hour or two later.

^This.

...and what makes it even more pathetic is that he could probably have been three levels higher if he did any of the other quests. Korriban I think is easier to burn through than Tython, Hutta, or Ord Mantell. I might have been tempted to call him on his lack of personal iniative in general chat if I was there and had seen that.

Maybe not. Since he was there in one spot so long its obvious other players just ignored him.

True. When I was a sophomore in college I was at a bar with my roommate and some friends. A group of freshman chicks came in and one caught my eye. I used the cheesiest line ever.

"Girl, you so fine theres only one thing that could make you look better."
"Whats that?"
"Being seen with me.".

...and it worked. I took her out the next night but as the evening drew to a close and she was inviting me to stay in her apartment my Spider-Sense was tingling so I left.

...and narrowly avoided, well....a bad situation. As you say, nothing easy to attain is worth having. I'll leave it to your imagination what the bad stuff was...except to say penicillin helped the next poor guy that dated her.

LOL W, I can one up you
Now Im pushing 50 years old so take into account the era and how more shocking this would be at the time.

I had a buddy
not a good looking guy, just average at best
but every week end he would goto a night club (one known to be a meatmarket so he knew why the girls were there, this was back in the mid 80s)
Stand out side the doors at closeing time and wait for single girls to exit and just say

Wanna (well you get rest right) ?

And the sad thing is more times outta not he went home with one of the girls who didnt find "TRUE LOVE" in the local meat market

I always think of that when I see one of the beggers spamming everyone for freebies and help.
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

Never date someone who could give you crabs unless their family owns a seafood restaurant.

Lol...I just made the half century mark a month ago....so I understand the time period you speak of.

When I see the beggars in game it just makes me think of the ones I saw in DC when I worked at the Pentagon, or the ones in Europe. Go to the Vatican.....they have women carrying fake babies around the area that will play on your sympathy for money. Its only funny in a sad kind of way. I used to be one of those guys that would give spare change to a guy begging, but not anymore. Too many of them are just scammers.

Heck, the last guy I gave money to....he saw me coming out of aconvenience store after work. It was hot, I was tired, had been on the range all day with no shade and all I wanted was to take my cold 6 pack home and sit by the grill cooking some burgers and listening to "Hits of the 80's" ,....

This scruffy guy walks up to me and says "I'm not going to BS you, I just want a beer.". I gave him 5 bucks just for being honest. I know its alm ost cliché, but it really happened.

There's no drama here. Just people discussing a subject that judging by the responses gets under the skin of many of them. YMMV. But if the thread gets under your skin, feel free to /ignore it.

Actually we used to tell the guy "You want some "Old Bay" for your crabs?" . Its kind of a shame too. The girl I spoke of was good looking. But you can't judge a book by its cover.

Especially since he had another problem apart from the crabs!

Now that I think about it, I think I was blind invited to a group and joined. Only problem they acted like they didn't know what too do and followed me. So I simply lose them and left on my speeder.
Also one time I think I was on my trooper and I foolishly helped a Jedi Counselor whom I don't think had an advance class and power leveled all the way too their ship. The person wanted me to come along. But I was a bit happy that I don't have my ship and I was trying too tell him about the side quests but he left and I simply went back to continue. This was on Corusant.
"Do or do not, there is no try."
