Couldn't find any, eh? I understand.

I have the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor, 8 gigs of ram, 30mbps cable internet and a Radeon HD6870 1gig and I get between 40-60 fps and 50-70ms ping times. This is the same spec I had when I was doing SWTOR beta and launch. SWTOR was a laggy PITA when it launched. One of the comments I made to a buddy after coming back to the game after a lengthy hiatus was how smooth everything is.

I would like to comment about the Intel comments, I'm not a hardcore gamer, but my 3.5 year old rig has ran most of the newer (SWTOR, Tera, Battlefield 3, Wildstar, etc.) games with graphics set on high or very high and received no lag. Intel may rock for gaming, but you pay a premium for that. $200 for a 6 core AMD compared to $350-500 4 core i7? A comparable AMD CPU will work just fine.

You are all forgetting the stellar performances of the early Ilum mass PvP days, and the "1 FPS Wars". While his CPU isn`t the best in the world, this game is **** in terms of optimization and a nightmare when multiple players are around - that hasn`t changed since day 1 and you can easily test it by comparing your FPS with and without name plates on.

Keep trying. You are currently 0 for 1.

SWTOR does not have the best graphics engine ever, nor the worst. So go update your processor, per the advice given you earlier in the thread.

Honestly, the single biggest performance issue with the engine IMO is that it scales performance poorly with higher end hardware. In other words.... if you double your processor or graphics power, you will not get double your performance in terms of FPS. It's a processor intensive MMO, and it bottle necks in a number of places that have absolutely nothing to do with graphics rendering.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.

Game still disappoints high end hardware users. But then again, they have high demands and like to crap on any MMO that does not match the rendering performance of a highly tuned single player console game running on their all-beta_all-the-time drivers carefully tuned for the single player game.

On the other hand, the game actually runs much better then at launch for low to mid range computers.

I wouldn't say it's the worst engine but it'll definitely take a seat among the worst. It's ability to scale and grow is really bad. Optimization is getting better but still needs massive improvements - I believe it's 'single-threaded'?? I'd much rather them go down the Square Enix route and take the game down for a year or 6 months and just relaunch with a new engine that allows for a mass amount of players to be on screen at once like MMO's should be able to do. Keep the game the same but just a new engine that can scale well...Would be a good investment and they could time it with the launch of the new trilogy or something...

As for the OP's specs - his rig should be more than enough...My best friend has the exact same specs save for having a 6950 instead of the 6870 and only 6GB of RAM - He runs GW2 and TERA ~ 60fps and during sieges and during PvP dips into the 40's.

He could upgrade but as many know already or at least should know getting new hardware does not mean he will see a drastic performance boost in TOR, simply because of the poor scalability.

Runs and always ran perfectly fine on my aged PC, on stock i5-2500k, 8 Gb RAM 1600 Mhz and and GTX 560 Ti. The same PC that runs BF BC2 full settings, Arma 3 at high and DayZ Standalone very high. Occasional stuttering, but that would happen regardless.

Then again, I don`t watch **** all day, so my PC isn`t bloated with all kinds of malware that it`s a miracle some PC`s ever boot up.

Yeah no argument from me on that one. Another good test: next time you circle the fleet, do it backwards and watch the game stutter as it frantically tries to render all those people constantly appearing out of nowhere. The only defense I can make on that point is that MMOs are typically more CPU intensive than say a single player shooter, which could nearly be run without even waking the CPU. But compared to other MMOs I've played, SWTOR seems to take CPU loads to new heights.

The op's pc far exceeds the min specs to run the game and he should be getting better performance than what he is getting.
You should try optimizing your graphics setting update drivers and stop any programs that are running in the back ground. Something as simple as your anti virus or email client running can kill your fps
