I dont think TESO will really do much damage here because for many, the animations and combat are just awful but the real test will be Wildstar which, for PvPers offers so much more than SWTOR does. If only Bioware would wake up and actual design instead of rolling out the usual excuses
Just for kicks, I'm gonna return here.
It is now tuesday at 10pm eastern time (in the US) and all the NA servers are standard, except for Pot5 which is light.
It would seem that this population problem is limited to the PvP servers, and even just to a few of them specifically.
I have noticed that alot of the main complainers have come from Pot5. Alot of them have complained that the game feels dead and nobody is playing.
It would seem they are tainted by their server and need to try other servers before making such statements.

(needless to say, at 6am GMT on a wednesday, the EU servers are all light)

bottom tier is BGs.

wildstar PVP action set system makes PVP a joke. action sets trump players skill and gear. if your action set is 'rock' and your opponent's is 'paper' then you are done for, doesn't mater what gear you have or how good you are at PVP.

then there is the telegraph system that dumbs down PVP and was created for carebears.

oh yeah, really great PVP design.

so you tell me, what exactly about wildstar PVP are you thinking is going to attract PVPers away from not just TOR, but any other MMO?

at first, wildstar PVP is fun. but once the novelty wears off and you actually understand how it works, it becomes less and less fun and its not a design that anyone that calls themselves "hardcore" is going to like.
Ah my stalker is back.
And yes, I am in beta and thoroughly enjoying it. Even connecting from the UK to a US server, I get pings of 30/35 mark. If I do that in SWTOR, pings range from 100-Crazy.

Just to shut your stupid mouth up - lets look at what Wildstar offers over SWTOR when it comes down to PvP.

- CROSS SERVER Queues
- Ability to CHOOSE how you PvP - Arenas, Battlegrounds. You can select one, or all of them. Rated or not rated.
- War Plots. 40 Man PvP
- Open World PvP
- Better game Engine
- Development team who appear to know what they are doing
- Combat is more fluid
- A development team who are ADDING features/functions instead of just saying 'No'.

So as you can see, Wildstar is actually offering the basic foundations of any MMO, excluding SWTOR of course because they have a development team only focused on one thing - Cartel Market.

I'm getting over the cartoon art but it also has mass amounts of humour. If Bioware got off their arse and actually did more than just say 'no, we're not working on that right now' after 'No Gate' - then maybe more people would stick around, because after all, this is supposed to be Star Wars.

Indeed. Euro servers now remain 'Light' past mid afternoon now, when even TRE would be Standard. There will always be a population drop when a new MMO is released but with 2 coming out within a couple of months of each other, it's going to be rough for SWTOR and the evidence is there.

Wait a second... Why are so many people here talking about ESO? IF you enjoy it, why aren't playing it? I mean, are you so insecure about other people disliking ESO, that you have to "fight" with them on a different games forum?

I see a lot of ESO fans spend more time quote 'defending' unquote ESO against all those big bad reviewers and "trolls", instead of playing ESO. You all have some weird priorities...

You obviously do not even like this game at all, not even a little judging by the type of posts you make. Why are you here again if it's so bad?

Are you blind? You completely ignored or misread my post.

the time was 6AM in the morning when I cited those light servers and you somehow read that as "Euro servers now remain 'Light' past mid afternoon now"?

No. It is now 10:49AM GMT on a thursday and four of the EU servers are already at standard. More will follow as we get closer to the afternoon.

I was disproving your claim of "Servers are now 'Light' for 60% of the day (not including the night shift midnight-7am)" that you made earlier.
Servers are only Light during the off-hours (which are not midnight to 7am btw). The rest of the time they are usually standard or even heavy depending on the server.
The only servers that are nigh-constantly Light are the PvP servers.

So why stay here I honestly don't get it, but I guess it is your money! I would argue about

combat is more fluid - Combat is simplistic, so of course it is more fluid, and fluid matters not if the games is over before you start

cartoon art - we are talking banjokazooie meets WoW, I feel like I am watching my kids play Skylanders, the style isn't me at all.

Tbh if you want PvP though, SWTOR is not and never was the game for you. For me it is possibly the worst part of the game. It has never been a rewarding experience, and unless they overhaul the whole thing including separating PvP from PvE it never will be. If I want multiplayer PvP I go play other games where tactics and strategy matter.

FYI Wildstar isn't out yet and like probably 50% of the subscribers left here, will be heading there when it comes out in June. Regarding pvp, it could and should have been good. This is supposed to be Star Wars but unfortunately it feels like Maxis have taken over and turned this in to a Sims expansion.

And after 'No gate', many PvPers are leaving or will be when their sub is up

Heh, maby on the PvP servers, but it won't make a big dent when it comes to the PvE and RP servers.
