I wonder how many people don't realize this game has an option to auto-decline group and trade invites in preferences. I'm also quick to /ignore people without any response at all.

Or you guys could be like me.

Be blunt with people. And make shure you do it in General Chat, so people know.

This past weekend I've been leveling my marauder and all thruout Korriban, DK, Balmorra, and NS he number 1 thing I would read in chat is people asking for help with a Warrior Class quest.

They want you to come and do the fight for them while their underleveled, just so they go to the next planet or class area and get stuck on that until someone takes pity on them.

I have zero patience and tolerance for those people and I will call them out every time. I don't care if it gets me flak in general chat. You need to be Blunt and harsh with some people.

I've had people do that a couple times. I just ignore them out right. I don't mind seeing people ask in Gen chat and I decide I'm not busy I can go ahead and help. But to go out of their way and whisper me while I am doing my own crap and ask me to switch to a separate character to help them is annoying. But like I said I just ignore them and move on with my day.

That option isn't really all that useful, I feel. Sure, it blocks random invites, but forces me to go to my preferences and fiddle with those whenever I actually *want* a group or a trade. Would annoy the heck out of me.

As for the general topic - I recently had something like that happen as well. Was on Alderaan this weekend, leveling my Sentinel and there was this guy just spamming "HELP ME!!!" in general chat, over and over again. So I finally told him that specifying what he needs help with might be useful - and at that point he started spamming group invites while still crying for help. oô

Here is a fun tale that might lift some people's spirits.

I was on fleet once and some random guy was asking for money for...something or other. I don't remember but he really needed it. It wasn't that much...8k or so if I remember correctly. He promised to pay me back.

I didn't trust him so I just wrote the money off as a loss and gave it to him anyway. A couple days later he actually made good and sent back the money plus a few extra thousand.

I'm in the last parts of my sith assassin story. I go to Korriban to do my class mission there at lvl 54. I could probably have finished a few other missions and gone as 55, but I digress....on my way to the council chambers I get a whisper from a player I have never met that says "Hey can you help me plow through my missions here so I can level fast?".

I hate that. I'm no big fan of power leveling, but if others do it, that's their business. What irked me is why ask someone you don't know? Do you think I logged on and decided to go to Korriban with my high level character just 'cuz? That I want to spend my time following you around on missions that I've done myself, will offer me nothing just because YOU don't have the patience to do them?

I suppose it bugs me the most because back when City of Heroes was active I had several times where low level players would straight up ask me for 100,000 influence (that games version of credits, or gold if ya like) or to powerlevel them and then have the friggin' nerve to get angry if I refused. (Not kidding...I was actually shocked that someone would get so angry because I didn't want to GIVE them my in game currency or basically follow them around and help them do missions far above their level)

I can understand asking for help, but honestly what this guy wanted was for me to run around and kill everything for him. I wouldn't do that for a guild mate, I sure won't do it for someone I have never even seen.
So agree with you

For some weird reason my Trooper ALWAYS gets tells asking for help from people on freaking Taris.

I'm starting to wonder if there is some huge neon sign saying "bother "trooper" if you want PLing".

Honestly I just put those people on ignore now
I'll reply once asking why they are messaging me from a different planet then I'm on and why a 55 should come power level a strangers low level character.
Don't often get a response after that

LOL, I saw that guy on Alderaan (or guy on imp side doing same thing, probably same guy)! I was on as my inquiz and dang that guy got annoying fast

I emoted " Smacks so and so in forehead and screams "FORCE DEMONS BEGONE" and informed him he was now "helped"

Don't think he saw the humor in that

When my lvl 55 Assassin is on Tatooine doing GSI dailies I often get random help requests out of the blue from people I don't know who are stuck on their class quest. For some reason it is always Sith Warriors. Always. Why do they struggle so with it?

Yeah, for a while I was a sucker for sob stories and would always help people who asked nicely. Tend not to any more, as you aren't really helping them if you're just doing their quest for them, are you? They're just going to hit another wall at the next boss.

I knew parts of the Warrior class quest on Tat like the back of my hand for ages before I actually did it myself. Wasn't looking forward to it, considering how many folks I had seen who just couldn't do it. Turned out there was nothing hard about it at all. What gives with these guys?

Maybe I've just become a bit jaded and can't remember what it's like when you are on your first character and still really only have half a clue about what you are doing, even by the time you get to Tatooine. I swear my DPS Assassin spent half her career in the tank stance because I didn't know any better (hell, I didn't even know what Tank and DPS meant). I do remember dying a lot on some of the harder boss fights, but I don't ever remember asking random passers-by (or indeed anyone at all) to do my class quest for me.

I couldn't agree more. Making an example of in general makes them keep quiet quick.
