Well, I should have also mentioned that I also like to keep them at least close to the same place in terms of going through the content. I mean, if two characters were both level 25 but one was halfway through the third planet and one was just starting the second...nah, I wouldn't do that. Not just for reasons of symmetry, but I also like them to be able to share loot if one gets something another one's companion can use, craft stuff for each other, etc.

Yeah, if I switched between them every five minutes I could keep them in sync even on a double-xp weekend. But that sounds like a pain. I think a better idea would be, have an opt-out for double-xp weekends.

But if they decide to do double-xp spring, or double-xp summer, I'd be cool with that and wouldn't ask for an opt-out.

Hmmm...I guess the flip side of that would be, the leveling content would be clogged with people. Maybe I wouldn't play even if there was an opt-out, then.

I don't hate Double XP as a concept. I think it can be very useful and appealing, as evidenced by the number of people who enjoy those events. I do not oppose rested XP and because I am always rotating through my characters at any given time always play with rested XP. However, there is a difference with Rested XP and Double XP. Rested XP only gives you a bonus against killing mobs. It does not double mission/quest rewards nor does it double XP gained in PvP or the PvE space missions. Double XP doubles everything. That is the problem I have with it and the reason why I do not, and will not, play during those events until I have the option to turn it off.

My highest character level is currently in the mid-40's. I have not once overleveled any mission/FP/Space mission yet, even with rested XP. Double XP would most certainly cause me to overlevel in a short period of time. In the end, if BW wanted to permanently enable Double XP 24/7 I wouldn't care one whit so long as I can turn it off for my account. It doesn't matter why or why not. As someone else mentioned, different people like different things and we don't need a reason to like or dislike something, nor do we need to explain why we like or dislike something. Some people dislike double XP and want a way to opt out of it so they can still play the game on their own schedule and not have to skip a weekend because of it. That is good enough.

I almost never log out in cantinas (maybe if I quick-traveled back and immediately logged out for some random reason) and when leveling a character they're rarely on fleet so they're unlikely to log out there either - I don't actively avoid rest areas, but just the way it works out 95% of the time my character logs out just standing around in town or even out "in the wilderness" of whatever planet I'm questing on. But I honestly cannot remember the last time I didn't have the rested bonus on any of my characters.

To OP though, while I don't hate Double XP weekends, I don't get much out of them either and would prefer an option to opt out, but rested XP doesn't usually bug me at all because it only applies to mob kills, whereas the lion's share of my XP gains come from quests.

Simple fact is, when I'm just working with rested XP I'll usually be two or three levels above a planet's suggested range when I finish it - but if I've been playing during a Double XP weekend I've had my character be as many as 10 levels "overleveled" while still in the middle of a planet's quest-chains.

It's a pretty significant difference.

Yeah but this doesn't happen enough for me to be concerned with it. That's when I start leveling characters that I haven't bothered to level yet as the grind is far less painful and that's what the bulk of the guild is doing.

All they have to do is give us a toggle in the options to turn off or ignore double XP and then everyone gets what they want. But, that would probably make too much sense, lol.

For myself, doesn't bother me since i have 4 out of 22 toons left to get to 55. And since I've played every class and advanced class in the game to at least 55, I can make more and more toons just to do the class stories if I'm feeling nostalgic. But for new people? It sucks to me cause then they're completely ignorant in how to play their class/role correctly.

I have suggested that several times. And had to duck to avoid the vitriol that was sent my way.

I still don't understand this. No reason will ever make sense to me (except OCD, because you can't help that one without lasers shot into your brain, but I'm not a doctor so don't quote that). Ultimately, yeah it makes ops forming more difficult for that week, but it makes ops forming for the rest of the time until the next one THAT MUCH EASIER. Having multiple roles on 1 account means that no matter the "sitch" (Kim Possible theme-song plays in bg), you're able to contribute AND find a group. It's also nice that it expands to GSF because while I'm leveling a new ship, I'm still benefiting greatly from it, and am able to do the class quest as an OP bad @**. You can't please everyone *shrugs*
