Thanaton was there. Problem?

Most of them just don't spend all their time on Korriban, that's all. Marr is busy defending the entire Empire on all fronts, Nox and Arkous are taking part in the Flashpoints etc. Plus, they are the strongest of all Sith, so just Darth Soverus' presence should have been enough to repel any invaders from the Council Chambers, theoretically. They probably had complete faith in that guy

Also, the Republic stole something from the Academy. Nox rules the Pyramid of Ancient Knowledge. It's technically the Inquisitor's responsibility if what the Republic retrieved damages the Empire, because it was stated to be an artifact. Darth Marr will be pleased
This place has been an empty wasteland for a long time. No longer.

New Flashpoints - Of course the setting is cool, going back to Korriban/Tython and its being invaded. The problem is, it didn't feel like it was being invaded. It looks like they are standing around waiting to be killed. Where are the defending forces? Where are the bodies of the defenders? On Korriban the last boss is standing in the Dark Council room! Where the hell is the Dark Council and why didn't they destroy this one crappy Jedi in the throne room? Not only that, EAWare promised an "epic" story. From what I saw, there was no indication of how the attack was made or any hint of what was next. It was kind of like "Hey - you beat em. Good job. now go back tot he fleet and stand there." The 2 instances just felt very "meh" to me.

New Huttball - While I really like the original Huttball, this one has far less strategy to it. It could have very well been that it was the first day and lots of people weren't really trying but it just seemed like a deathmatch with the advantage to Ranged DPS. The other thing is, if you get the ball taken from you on the way up to the opposing teams ramp, your goal is literally a force speed burst away. So I guess that's some strategy, just sit on the ramp to your own goal, wait for the ball carrier, kill him and then just walk on in to the enemy's goal. Seems kinda "meh" to me.

New PvE and PvP tiers - These are all just recolored crap. In the course of playing this tier, I think I can count on two hands how many people actually wear the ugly garbage that is Obroan and DreadForge, and all they have for us is a recolor? It's just really disappointing to see the lack of effort being put into this games "major updates"

NiM Mode - This is not additional content. I'm sorry it just isn't. Adding an extra mechanic plus some more health and damage does NOT make me feel like I haven't been raiding the same thing for 6 months. Come on EAware, you can do better than this.

Anyway, this is just my two creds.
A new tier of gear just came out anyways in 2.4. They always release another set of recolored gear. Doesn't everyone already put the mods into adaptive gear anyways? So why does new gear matter? The new Huttball map is great, the Flashpoints are nice, Denon Exosphere is amazing, and the NiM mode is welcomed. Overall something to offer everyone, and with Pre-season 2 and Ranked season 2 starting for PvPers this was a nice patch.

That's 'a' solution for playing roles but it's so easy to just blast through the content with toons that are in all 78 gear. And if you've read the tread above you have to agree that the story is somewhat lacking. No other vo talent used for npc's to say anything. There should have been some capital ships bombing the ground in the sky not just fighting each other. For me the tactical flashpoints just feel too short and we just run in and zerg everything. Although I do like that they seem to have created the maps in a way that you don't just bypass all the trash on your way to the bosses. I always hated that in the orignal flashpoints if you pugged them.

Other than NiM, most of the content is like that, and frankly, some of the NiMs are that way too. The idea is to have some fun while you're at it, and we do. Hell, our sub 55s running KDY always knock the guys off the platform to aggro the whole room in the jail, just to see if we can pull it off. It's about 50/50 right now... So we don't even need to be BiS endgame geared to Roflstomp some of the content.

Well that's you guys and I'm glad you guys are enjoying yourselves. Having played MMO's on a hardcore level for almost a decade. I personally want more real content. I think that all modes of an Operations should be there when it's released. Not just add it and call it new content because to me new content is just that new with additional story for a story based game. Not just adding a mechanic to each boss in the instance and increasing it's health so the fight last longer and calling it new. It's not new because I've ran through the instance a gazillion times. (I do have over a dozen toons on both factions so I can pick and choose just what I feel like playing.) Now for a more casual player who maybe just runs an OP's once a week on a toon or two they're happy. I can't run existing flash points in this game any longer and haven't for about six months. Because they're just too boring at this point. Having come from WOW when it was fresh and cool, they're raids were harder so you couldn't learn them and get everyone doing the dance in a single evening. You could save the instance at a point until a certain time and everyone came back and continued where you left off. They also provided instances on a regular bases. But it's an old game for me now and I wouldn't go back to play it.

There's a reason for that...

So it's not actually nitpicking but more like you not paying attention.

Honestly, knowing this is a "smaller" update (not an expansion or something like that) I think there was enough content. What really makes me sad with this game is the gigantic quantity of new bugs. This time we have things like:

-WZs lags;
-Simplification on Tyrans, anyone?
-New "bug" on bolster (too much damage from all classes, there's several topics about this. Yes I know it was intented, it was just done the wrong way);
-Several people exploited the queues to get rewards and nothing was done (not even a word on this);

Not to mention things that aren't bugs, but just bad, like the terrible design of the new warzone and the idiotic farm of recolored gear.

Other than that, the update was nice, in my opinion.

I think this update is quite rich really considering some of the bleak and barren updates we have had previously, they have put a lot of work into it and this is after all only just the beginning of a new story arc so there is the promise of more to come.

People are too quick to start ringing the death bell every time Bioware release something....I could understand it if they released nothing...at least they are trying. It seems like they can't win, 'here is some more content'...community response....'meh this game is crap'...i mean ***? lol

The did give us more content and that's great. For someone like myself who doesn't like pvp and only plays pve content and will not run older instances because I've been through them on both factions a zillion times and I've done all the OP's a zillion times on all hardness levels as tank, dps, and heals. These two little non-role specific flash points are nice maybe the first few times you run through them. But there's no meat to them. Great the start of a new story. We have to wait two more months until they give us bigger content. Hopefully that comes fully loaded with full flash points that 'are' specifically for your class/roll, OP's, a planet or somethings to explore with new dailies. Yeah it's a lot of work but the last expansion was Makeb. Hopefully they have a dedicated design team and development staff with artists, vo, music, writers to do that since that release. People that really like MMO's stick around for a long time. This feels like it's more for the casual player to new players that come on board verse those that run in guilds and run OP's weekly. If I stop playing for a month or two and wait for the new content then you get somewhat rusty with you toons. Then you have guildies complaining that your Torparse or Parsec scores dont' cut it.

I really like the new fps and the story is intriguing. I'm greatly looking forward to more. That being said, it would be sad if story content in terms of dialogue and choices in FPs peaked with Black Talon/Esseles. Some people farm the reputation and so don't want lots of dialogue. I get that, but not every FP has to be tied to the reputation system or fall into the 'daily' mode. There're plenty of things for the spacebar crowd to do now.
