I haven't played the new flashpoints yet, but the dark council chambers are on Drumond Kaas, not Korriban.

No, they are on Korriban. But as I understood, Dark Council members do not live on Korriban, they just meet there in DC Chambers, when the need arrives, to discuss important matters. So during the assault they, as usual, simply weren't there.

I do like where the story is going. I'm intrigued.
I'm very intrigued as well! I even got an email from someone from chapter 1 so that makes me think that something really interesting is on the horizon. Between leveling new chars, raiding, doing FP's, playing the GTN, dailies, events, chasing gear / armor / speeders, and the whole social experience I don't find enough time in the day to do everything I want. I'm not worried one bit about SWTOR's future, I'm very excited

I'm actually really enjoying 2.7. Both flashpoints were fun and while I'm not sure what the actual square-footage of the maps were, they felt a lot bigger than the CZ-198 ones, so I enjoyed that variety. I love that they made them about actually striking at the enemy faction and found a way to make them faction-specific but still available to 100% of the players.

I've only played through the story quest on the Imperial side, but it's definitely got me hooked, mainly because of the new character you interact with. I really liked how they choreographed the last conversation with her so that it was more than just standing face-to-face with the camera cutting back and forth to each person as they said their lines. Was it anything "OMG! So amazing! Oscar worthy cinematography!"? No, of course not, but little touches like that are things I appreciate and I think show they're not just phoning it in.

Actually my only real concern about this new story arc is that I suspect the next step is going to go back to the old "now we both fight a third party" plot, mainly based on the fact that the arc is called "Forged Alliances".
One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate, and thus defy the tyrannous stars. ~Kain

Assuming you're Imperial, its a purple astromech called A7-M1, wearing the title of <Story Arc: Forged Alliances>, on the west side of the fleet, just before the crossroads in front of the elevator.

The Republic one I assume is on the opposite side or something.

Quote:
While the undying Emperor serves as the unquestioned leader of the Empire, the twelve members of the Dark Council oversee the daily workings of their vast civilization and speak in the Emperor’s name. Each is among the most powerful Sith in the galaxy; to hold a seat on the council is the highest honor and the greatest position of influence a Sith can attain. The individual members of the Dark Council control their own spheres of influence and pyramids of subordinate Sith–overall Imperial military strategy falls in the hands of one Dark Council member, while study of ancient artifacts falls into the hands of another. These spheres occasionally overlap, leading to conflict. However, every Sith Lord and apprentice is ultimately answerable to the council member at the top of his or her pyramid. Similarly, non-Sith organizations are usually clearly answerable to one Dark Council member or another. Meetings of the Dark Council are normally held in the Citadel on Dromund Kaas or in the Sith Academy on Korriban. It’s rare for all members to gather at once–power plays among members are frequent, and several of the Dark Lords are virtual hermits. On the occasions when the Emperor summons them, however, all members of the Dark Council are expected to gather and obey.
Everytime you see the Dark Council convened however, you see it on Korriban, not Dromund Kaas.

A droid just outside the elevator that lead to the interfleet transport. From there you use the elevator to get to the new fp area.
