Should there be a limit to how high a price on GTN can go?

Given 2.7 prices on GTN for dread forged relics for example are insanely expensive. At one point as high as 25 million for focused retribution!

Of course some folks (the really rich folks that have been playing this game for years) can afford that but i assume a very large portion of the game doesn't come close to having that much TOTAL.

I feel that some people on GTN take advantage of others and offer things that are incredibly high in price. underworld relics for example are pretty reasonable and cheap and extremely effective relics yet the difference between both now is more than 10 million.

The fact that some sell dye modules for 5 million when you can get them with cartel coins cheap makes me wonder if there should be limit on certain items.

Why? Your reasoning for the limit is totally selfish disguised as a favor to society.

if you are so bleeding edge progression (or rich) that you MUST have dreadforged relic that is extremely rare (we're talking just to be able to get the recipe, you had to have given a single relic that drops per week to a designated person to RE ) - you won't mind paying the millions people are asking for it.

otherwise - you could just pvp for an hour and get both obroan relics that are nearly as good and don't cost an arm and a leg.

Then don't buy it. If they actually plan on selling whatever it is they're listing then they'll have to price it at a point that someone will buy it. If no one buys it then they don't make anything.

Really? You actually got "selfish" from my suggestion? when we're talking about people that triple the price on something that should cost a lot but not an extremely large number?

It's not like there's a competition to see who has the most credits in the game. And to be honest when you stop playing your credits just stay there. Congratulations you sold many overpriced things and made 1 billion creds. Now you left the game but the person who continues to play the game and bought things from you could have used some of those creds on something else.

Just trying to say reasonable prices would be good. Dreadforged relics are rare yes but now that they are no longer rare and any crafter can make them why offer them at such high prices? 25 million?

How is suggesting a limit to prices selfish but asking 25 million is not?

You are selfish and greedy.
People have a right to get as much as someone else is willing to offer them for their items.

There should not be a limit on the price but there should be a cost to list based on the price you select. That would create a disincentive to list for prices like 25 million. So if you had to put down say 3% or 750,000 credits to list something at 25 million you better be sure it will sell. And of course that 3% would come out of the normal fees when the item sells so there is no effect on those that list at reasonable prices who don't have their items returned to them every 2 days.
