Also, yes, BioWare has a team working on Cartel Market stuff. Because it's popular. Because it generates revenue. And because it really did save the game from closing.

But to call Cartel Market a "focus" is a wild exaggeration, especially given GSF and the roadmap.
I agree. It's not the only focus and I honestly don't have a problem with it even it were. My comments were aimed at us, the players, not Bioware. I just wanted to point out he hypocrisy. That's all.

Can you please link the posts where the people in this thread openly complain about the devs adding items to the Cartel Market?

Thanks

Seriously? We are doing these type of deals on a Friday, not on Saturday or Sunday aka the days when people are not working? Well done BW, you can't even do a firesale correctly

I imagine this is for data gathering purposes. If the mass sales simply end up causing those who were able to buy during the sale to save up coins for the next sale, Bioware ends up worse off. If they encourage more splurging, then Bioware is better off. Since the day the sales are occurring aren't a maximum traffic day, it has less chance of adversely of significantly affecting their revenues, while still allowing them to gather data on spending habits.

In this thread...? I am talking about on the forums in general. Like, over time. Not just in this thread, or in the last hour, or on the forums today. In general. But I think you probably knew that. Unless you're new to the game.

No, it's because ESO officially launched today. That's not trolling and I have no intention of playing the game. It's just standard practice. When SWTOR first launched, WoW and pretty much every other major MMO on the market had similar deals to what we're seeing today in this game.

For example, on launch day for SWTOR, WoW made the entire battlechest available for like half off, and Champions Online came out with a new zealot build that was basically a Jedi Knight.

BW isn't screwing over those who work today, they are competing against the launch day of an anticipated MMO.

You know, in most MMOs (where the items bind on acquire) this is an actual issue.

For this MMO, not really. There are always players who will buy extras and list them on the GTN. And in almost all cases, the CC discount gets reflected in the short term on the GTN in the form of lower prices and lots of stock for an item. Longer term.. rarity will drive GTN prices back up.. so I suggest you shop early on the GTN.
When you find yourself surrounded by hostile Clowns... always go for the "Juggler" first.

Doesn't seem very plausible to me. They didn't bother doing anything for GW2(which had way more attention on these forums), and CM sales doesn't scream concerned about the competition to me.
