You see, to 99% of the RP population, regardless of the story, that is blasphemy. I have nothing against the RP crowd, but some are... misguided and into the wrong field.

"YOU ARE TROLLING!!!" - explain to the moron that YOUR idea of an avatar trumps HIS. That`s why I don`t deal with RP-ers: they can`t think outside "movie canon".

Whoever thinks that is.....trolling is obviously a moron. Not every Sith has been pure organic -coughVadercough- Or maybe it isn't a Sith at all? Just a...cyborg/droid who's been taught to use lightsabers ala General Grievous? It's..not blasphemous at all

Most can`t see past established canon. Any outside the box thinking confuses them.

probably not the type of roleplayers you are talking about, but in some cases... imagine if you have patronage of the more powerful sith in hierarchy - I can see them easily flipping off lower ranked sith, especially if those sith are NOT allied with their own patron.
and/or possible suicidal tendencies. or maybe they are adrenaline junkies (especially possible with bounty hunters)

The only way to RP in this game is to go as far away from the official storyline as possible. But those players are rare. 99% just want to be Ze Emporer, Dath Wador and Muster Joda.
Actually, most of the RP'ers I met in SWG were just the same... except most weren't jedi until after the NGE...

But they were still "the most famous bounty hunter ever, even better than boba fett" and whatnot.

There's a reason why many roleplayers only play with people they know. The majority of roleplayers... well, I wouldn't say "sucks", since that's a highly subjective thing. Let's put it this way: It is rather difficult to find a general consensus with most roleplayers, since their views of what qualifies as 'good roleplay' differ drastically from mine.
'Twas right, said they, such birds to slay
that bring the fog and mist

The Mitharr Legacy - Way too many characters to name here.

See, most who "can't see past established canon" shouldn't be playing this game in the first place if they cannot respect that this isn't the movies.

Yeah, but for them is simpler to point fingers to anyone not thinking their way. How dare I tell them how to play their game? And if they want to roleplay "The bestest Jedi evah!", with what authority I am telling them they are hit in the head? Don`t I know that I am a minority for playing just an average Jedi?

Just look at the hordes asking old armor.. and getting it - all the games`s armors. They want to be Mission Vao, or Thana Vesh, not "My'Story Role'player".

I just want the armors cause they look nice, not to be those characters, and I surmise that's why most people want them as well. I find it a bit presumptuous that you think people want them so they can be that character. Therein lies the problem with many a roleplayer, holier than thou attitudes. Let people play and roleplay as they wish, if you don't like their particular style, consider them deranged lunatics and move on.
I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

I personally don't mind all the new armour we're getting, adds more variety to mix and match. But yes it does seem a lot of people seem to want to replicate these characters fully. I mean I've seen a complete clone of Thana Vesh (hair, face, tattoo's) and some running around called Ulic, wearing the full Ulic Qel Droma set.

Unfortunately this game seems to have attracted the worst kind of roleplayers and it doesn't paint the rest of us in a good light for others. There are a good number of decent roleplayers in the game, you just need to find them and cling onto them for dear life.
