There ya go...now get to work on it.
Let me get my pencil.

I love the open ended ones that can mean anything.

Well i like the idea of fishing and cooking... but instead of fishing something more like "Cooking ingredients" (more similar to GW2 where you gather a lot of ingredients from mushrooms to animal meats).

Gives you something to kill time and re-visit planets that you don't go anymore. Also what could be better for a cook than to be able to mix ingredients from a lot of different planets?

Cooking in other MMORPGs gives you food items that give you a buff or restore health. In other words, pretty much what Biochem does.

Magical food might make sense in a fantasy RPG, but not so much in a Space Opera game.

Except that it isn't. Check out EQNext, The Repopulation, or Black Desert.

You don't need to play this game to do gear grind endgame raiding, just go play WoW or any of it's other clones.

Well Wildstar has swimming and cooking. They will not have fishing at launch, but they did say that it is coming after launch. Not sure if it counts since the game isn't out yet.

abd cooking in EVERY MMO I've played that has it, it's just a crafting tool thing, SW:TOR has it. it's just called "biochem" because yet again this is a science fiction setting. not High Fantasy .

likewise if BW ever gave us fishing chances are it'd effectivly be differnt
Wildstar has these 3 features and is a Sci-Fi MMO.

Star Trek Online has Dabo which was available on release i believe, and the duty officer minigame which i know for sure was release a few years after the games initial release. STO is a space combat and ground combat game, and the duty officer minigame is neither of those. But you can do stuff with the minigame that rewards you items that can buff your performance in game. If you guys have never played STO the doff minigame is kinda like Treasure Hunting or Underworld Trading. Basically a missioning system but on a much bigger scale. And you are dealing with mostly people (your duty officers). You send a duty officer on a mission and the rewards can range from xp, currency, crappy gear, or even other duty officers that you can assign to your ship and buff you in certain ways.

Dabo is like a roulette gambling type game and it's pretty much for people that want to RP or gather currency that can buy aestethic items I think. There are 2 quests where you have to play Dabo. One quest you just play it because you are meeting a spy or something, and another you need to give an NPC gold press latinum a currency which is easily obtainable by doing Dabo (there are other ways of getting it but Dabo is the easiest).

It may not be fishing, farming or cooking but they are miscellaneous activities that have nothing to do at all with the main game design or they buff it in some small way.

Also....going back to the 'cooking makes no sense in a Star Wars MMO ****'. In all of the movies how do they take their meals and beverages?

Ep 1 Tatooine market scene, Shmis house,

Ep 2 Padme and Emowalker on the cargo ship, Padma and Emowalker eating an orange (with the help of the force)

Ep 3 Clones in the Mess Hall, Diner scene with Obiwan and his alien friend

Ep 4 Aunt Beru cooking, drinks in the cantina

Ep 5 Yodas Awesome Swamp Cookin', Lukes Rations, Cloud City ambush meal

Ep 6 Jabbas Palace and Barge, Leias rations which she gives to furry, Ewoks meal preparation (just kidding)

Saying it's difficult to code is one thing, but saying it doesnt belong is something else. That's like denying that people in the Star Trek universepoop because there is never any mention of it and they never showed a toilet in the tv shows or movies. But according to a Star Trek encylopedia that i got as a kid, they do still poop in the future because it showed the ships layout which had showers and toilets. Anyways enough about the poop, back to the food. Star Trek has an explanation for this too. IIRC the food replicators convert matter into edible food. In storage its like a block of something you cant eat it. But the food machines convert it into edible food. Unless of course you're a cat named Neelix and you cook stuff for the crew, but that wasnt standard practice and it was a unique situation for the Voyager crew. Thats actually how they explain away the need for a lot of things in the ST universe. Need food? replicate it...need a wrench? replicate it. But whats the explanation in the Star Wars universe? where did aunt beru get that stuff to make her food? where did those plates of food that were given to the clones come from? how were luke and leias rations made? what kind of seasoning does yoda use in his swamp gumbo?

I will say this though...if they were to add a new crew skill that allowed me to make a food or drink item that gives me 200 main stat buff on top of my biochem buffs i'm not going to complain.
I'm not really a noob...
