Ice fishing, and could do a Polar Bear Swim. Just need a trusty lightsaber or grenade to blow a hole in the ice. Tatooine, it's hard to tell if there's and pools of water or and water species there to fish.

My question is what would you craft with cooking, which to me sounds like the crafting skill while swimming and fishing sound like the gathering skills? Just stuff to heal yourself? Cause we have a skill like that, it's called biochem. Vegan cooking. Honestly we don't really need any new crew skills. There are a lot more things we need done and this falls really far down the list, if it's on the list at all, of things this game needs.

I don't really care about any of those things personally but I know they are a staple of mmos, the devs left out many mmo staples and I hope someday they get someone in charge who has mmo experience and they fix this glaring problem.

Can someone please post the official, industry standard list of MMO "staples"?

I've been asking for one for a couple years now yet no one has been able to find it. As soon as someone can post it, we'll all know what it is.

• PvP (world and objective style)
• PvE (quests to help in leveling and occupy top level characters)
• RP (emotes and ability to customize characters)
• Crafting (resources, recipes, ability to improve from stock items)
• Raidng (end game PvE that challenges all)
• Entertainment (time killing activities like fishing)
• "non-combat" activities (housing, fishing etc)
• Trade network
• Multiple factions
• No 'swords', no elfs, no goblins, no magicians...

There ya go...now get to work on it.

That type of fluff is being phased out of MMOs because it's a lot of time and resources being spent for a very small subset of players.Sorry.

Well Op. I think it is worth discussing at the very least although I'm not a fan of any of those things. I'm not against such things, but it isn't a requirement for an MMO IMO.

Swimming: Unless there is something to do underwater then, I don't see the need. I don't have desire to swim generally unless it is a means to an end.

Fishing: Well, fishing to me is related to a crafting skill. In other games you can fish for food, but, also to create other things depending on what you find. And... isn't that what seeker droids essentially do? You can find materials, mounts and even armor. So... IMO that is our version of fishing and I'm satisfied with that although again, I don't log in to do it, generally.

Cooking: To me this is a crafting skill to create consumables. Bioanalysis takes care of that need for me at the moment. Not much of a variety obviously but again I don't find a need for more.

You don't need to play this game to do those activities. Do them irl or wait for another simulator to come out on Steam, like Tow Truck Simulator for example.
