Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Swimming: would probably choke the engine
Fishing: while it would be fun, there is no way for the fish to swim because of the engine.
Cooking: Would be a great way to make existing creatures and plants useful for something other than combat. The Flat-Earth Combat only crowd could never let this stand however. This is a THEMEPARK, they will remind, which is defined as a game where you only do one thing in one way as at release and you must never wish for more.

The FP and Ops brown shirts are ready with truncheons for anyone who dares speak out against monotonous Combat scenarios.

Actually, there is a branch of Sith Force studies that is universally called Sith Magic or Sith Sorcery. It combines force, knowledge of chemistry, etc. So Sorcerer in this case is very valid. Jedi Wizard is not...

Would swimming (if possible at all)/fishing/cooking hurt the game? Probably not.
Would cooking/fishing as crew skills look dumb/odd next to that Sci-Fi crew skills? Probably.
Would swimming/cooking/fishing add something that is severely missing? Uhm, no.
Should the developers take on other, more important stuff (like adding real content) instead of stuff that is immensly useless and just wanted by some because "that other game" has it without giving any advantages to this game? Heck yes!

I realize this is semantics, but Star Wars is not sci-fi. Sci-fi is short for Science Fiction, and Star Wars contains no science. Star Wars is space fantasy. The force really is magic, folks, and space really is 0g with no atmosphere--space fighters would not behave like Messerschmitts and Mustangs (or if they did they'd get creamed). I could go on.

My wife did Cooking in LOTRO. Worst. Profession. Ever. Fishing? Puts me to sleep.

I would like them to add Pazaak, however--I want to be able to gamble on Nar Shadaa!

If this was not actually an april fools joke...

As far as swimming... I wouldn't mind it but I wouldn't say every MMO has it. If they find a good reason to add it (other then just some random areas you can swim for no reason) then sure.

For cooking/fishing. Why? Cooking in WoW mostly exists because in WoW you have to eat/drink to regen. Fishing really only exists to support cooking.
I know there are buffs you can get from cooking in WoW but thats the last thing we need. I absolutely hated the buff situation in WoW and I would rather they just design flash points/raids with the expectation that everyone has the 4 class buffs and call it a day.

These 3 suggestions are unappealing to me. They're not exciting or interesting and they do not enhance my experience of what I think a Star Wars game should be. I could not care less that these things exist in some other games. I want the Devs to focus on giving us more things that feel like Star Wars.

Dunno if the OP was pulling an Aprils Fools or serious...and i dont care either way.

I've wondered about this too with SWTOR. It doesnt even have to be fishing and cooking...just misc activities that you do for fun which may or may not contribute to your raid performance.

For those of you that havent played WoW's latest expac they still do have food buffs. For comparison alchemy has a flask that gives you 1000 agility for 1 hour and it persists through death. There is a potion that increases agility by 4000 for 25 seconds, so thats kinda like a stim. The food buffs from cooking will give you another 250, 275 or 300 to your stat depending on which one you made. BUT another coold thing is they also have raid wide food buffs (banquets) that they can lay down that everyone can eat so that they gain 300 of their primary stat. Even this far into the game they still have been updating the food and cooking system. There's a rep faction you can grind to get materials for making all those food buffs. There is a farm that you can get as a quest reward that allows you to grow veggies used for making food buffs. And they even said screw you to logic and allowed you to plant stuff that would collect things like cloth, metal, leather or whatever. They just put something in there like 'you plant a cactus and it catches threads flying around in the wind' and thats the explanation to how you get cloth from a farm. Even their new race the Pandaren has a passive that doubles the effects of food buffs. That means a human gets 300 stat from a food buff, but a Pandaren gets 600 stat from the same food buff.

What would or could the equivalent of all that be in SWTOR? how about a moisture farm that is rewarded to you for doing some quest chain. You tend to this farm, build it up, gather parts or whatever. You get materials that are only available from a biochem or artifice or whatever. That stuff you get from the other crafter and the stuff you gathered on your moisture farm become the reagents for creating an item that gives you a buff that stacks with your biochem buffs.

I mean...somebody says fishing and farming i put that in Star Wars terms. They say farming i dont think about my WoW Panda on her dirt farm growing carrots. I picture my Twilek on Tatooine on her moisture farm growing...water, which i can then use to make buff items. I dont know what fishing would translate to in Star Wars terms. Whether any of you think its fun or boring IRL, people do fish for relaxation or to feed themselves. What kind of leisure activities are there in the SW universe that are both fun/relaxing but can also feed you? Womp Rat Hunting? Playing Pazaak for scraps of food? I actually dont know cause i dont follow the SW novels and books, so you guys tell me.
I'm not really a noob...
