Strongholds...so what?

So we all agree?

People dont want Strong holds, they really want them, Devs only give what we really want because they are smart people.

I just thought of something.

When it comes to chat... maby they wont tie it in with fleet (I doubt they will), but they might, however, tie it in with all other strongholds.
So anyone who is in a stronghold will be on the same channel (like fleet).

This would make it work just like fleet for grouping purposes and the likes.

Are people really that rude to RPers? Like, to the point they need refuge somewhere like a House? Wow, TOR community is hitting a new low. I see people RP and it's fun seeing them do it. Kind of gives a more Star Wars feel to the game. If this helps the RPers then this expansion is more the useful. Hopefully we get some legacy bank so it's easier to transfer money and stuff. Maybe have a Legacy storage to pass items too.

People are rude to RP'ers in all games basically.

It's not the majority, most people just leave RP'ers to it, but there are always some who seem to trigger on it and go out of their way to ruin it.
Even to such an extent that they actively go to RP servers just to disrupt.

But mostly RP'ers just want a place where they can get away from all the non-RP chatting that goes on, and the jumping, messing about and whatnot.

ps. I don't RP, I just play on RP servers because the players tend to be more mature overall.

Yes they are, from minor annoyances such as following RPers around and dancing naked on them, to jumping around swinging sabres, doing the Bounty Hunter Flamethrower spin, if its something disruptive that can be done, they will gleefully do it.

Then we have the anti-rpers who will just follow rpers around and mock everything said and done. There are also the sickos who go around pretending to rp, but only emoting/saying disgusting things. Again, you can out them on ignore, but they tend to be lord of the flies and go in packs.

Being on the internet with no real reprocussions brings out the douchebag that normal society usualy restrains.

Report them. Anyone acting like that is likely prepubescent or just....just a fool (I'd use other words here, but I don't want to get banned).

Nobody cares what activity you enjoy in a video game. There's no right or wrong way to play an MMO. Nobody is better than someone else for what they elect to do.

RPers should stand up for themselves - be less intimidated - be proud of how you play and don't back down from it. Player Ships for each class already do this to an extent. So I would definitely guess all Strongholds on the same planet would have the same general chat at the very least.

I was hoping for a legacy bank to reduce the frequency of switching, but if the bank is only accessible in the strongholds, it pretty much doesn't change the situation at all.

I anticipate that the Dev will either connect Strongholds with Fleet's Gen Chat, or if the vast majority of players move to Strongholds, then Coruscant's/DK's Gen Chat will become the 'new' Gen Chat used for pugging Ops and whatnot.
