Only thing that botheds me is 1,5 millon credits... I have rougly 200k among 6 characters

I would also like to know what planet exactly will we be able to live on.
I would want at least:

2. Oricon
3. Nar Shaddaa (Confirmed already)

DK/Coruscant and Nar Shadda are the ones that we get at launch. They may add more down the road. And the 1.5mil cost is for the Nar Shadda Stronghold 'with three unlocked rooms.' But since you're a subscriber, you get those for free as long as you stay subscribed through 2.8 launch.

I also hear a lot about instancing but has anyone else noticed there are three 'approach' animations in the trailer? Like cinematics that show your class' ship flying to the building? I wonder how that will work, and if you can approach / enter your stronghold from the ground, as well.

Plus, those labels... for them to serve ANY purpose, you'd have to make the stronghold visible from the outside for other players, at least.

No Oricon well, maybe they'll add it later
Well, and when was that 2.8 again...

For Infernixx, thanks for information

Why?
They'll be perfectly visible for anyone that enters your stronghold.
I'm assuming they'll only be able to if they are grouped with you, but you never know if you can buzz them in like you can in GTA Online or something like that.
But there is no reason they have to be visible from the outside to be useful.

Y'all are such buzzkills. I'm looking forward to chilling in my own luxurious Kaas City apartment in between missions/warzones instead of Fleet.

This is where I want to know the true functionality of the strongholds. If it can provide a one stop spot for dailies, ect, then it might be worthwhile and might get me off fleet when I'm not out leveling.

Just going to have to be patient I guess until more details are revealed.

PvE theorycrafting has really loosened their standards.

We still don't know a whole lot on how strongholds will work or how moddable they will be.

Putting RPers aside for a moment- the questions are what functional benefits/incentives are there for an average players to put time/resources into a stronghold. What do I get out of it that I can't get anywhere else, aside from just 'having one'? How can they make it an integral part of the game that's more than a feature tack-on to keep pace with competing MMO titles? Will storngholds include little features from the getgo like the ability to toggle on/off general fleet chat so you don't miss out on PUG calls? I would not be surprised if simple ideas like this have complex coding/backend implications that most players are oblivious about, but then again how far are they willing to go to making strongholds a complete solution?

I'm not a fan of Wildstar but their housing implementation is well done and a lot of people will sub and spend 100% of their time on just that. SWG/UO had interesting housing features. How will TOR build its implementation?
