Greetings!

So...we're about to get strongholds of our own on Nar Shaddaa and the home planets. Is there a point to them? Do they do something? They sound pretty useless to me. Am I missing something?

Is there a point to anything in a video game?
Why not go outside and experience real life instead?

Pvp & gsf are "useless" to me since I don't use either, but they keep putting stuff for both of them in. Its nice they are putting in something a lot of people have been asking for. RPers like housing (maybe if people weren't such aholes and trolled RPers so much it would be less an issue of needing safe places to rp), people like showing off their achievements & decorating, and the legacy bank will be part of it as well.

Just because its something you don't want/ you feel they are wasting time on instead of what -you- prefer, doesn't mean its useless.

To the person above me, its dangerous outside! Everyday I cheat death when bimbo-barbi #47 almost drives into me because she's too busy texting with one hand, an drinking a decaff latte with the other and is steering with her knees

Tbh GSHs is just a reskin of ships that you can spend your money on to add aesthetically pleasing items, it's going to be instances most likely and we wont be able to see crap from the outside so I think it'll be just another cash grab like Starfighter

The way they have monetized so many other aspects of the game I would not be surprised to see this implemented as well.

Sounds to me pretty useless...

we got free unlimited teleport to the fleet where we got access to all aspects of the game (almost) and a spaceships with all companions and space missions.

What reason there is to collect those apartments I have no clue :x
Europe -> Darth Malgus
Amahl-farouk-> Sith Pureblood Inquisitor Sorcerer

We know that your stronghold is bragging rights - so like a trophy hall. We know said hall will have a label which will reflect achievements. We know that the strongholds will provide the - likely only - access to legacy storage which is a HUGE quality of life improvement for anyone with alts, and we know that other people can join you in your stronghold, which again is a HUGE QoL improvement for anyone who has ever roleplayed. Heck, a troll-free environment is so valuable RPers were using the fleet's VIP area as a meeting place and access to that is 1 mil right there. That's how important this is.

You're safe from being surprised. They've said already that most of the stuff that you get for your Housing will be earned via killing stuff in-game and/or accomplishing things in-game.

They've also said that a good bit of stuff will come from crafting.

Yes, some stuff will come via the CM, but the vast majority of stuff for Housing will come from in-game activities.

hopefully they are more than a place to play interior design.

Possible functions:

-Grants extra rest experience
-Grants special quests
-Grants a bonus crit to crafting
-Grants a special NPC that will have a special item for you once a day (could be vender trash, could be crafting materials)

Bioware could make housing functional and something everyone would want to use, we have to wait and see if they are creative enough.

Tell me, does most of the armor and weapons in game come from the Cartel Market or from Crafting and world drops?

They will monetize the hell out of housing, don't think otherwise.

Well, they have never claimed that most weapons and armour come from drops, but I am pretty sure that statistically they do.
Personally tho, most of the armour and weapons I buy come from the GTN.
