Meh, Tython isn't bad, but it isn't my favorite either. My starting planet list goes something like:

Ord Mantell>Korriban>Tython>Nal Hutta

Tython is a beautiful place I agree. I always go back there to look at the scenery together with the music. Goes great together. Scaling the mountains. Finding secret places. Exploring the caves. I really like that stuff. Plus I also go back mostly every night and help out newcomers by giving them Adventure Packs I have made up which inculde a blue, yellow, green crystal, saber hilt and modification with a little bit of credits to help them out.

Always be who you are, not what the galaxy wants you to be

I am not a big fan of Tython either as it really doesn't have the same feel to the class per se like Korriban. I am not a jedi hater, I play republic and have been on this side for almost two years. I recently started leveling a sorc on Korriban and I was impressed with the connection to the lore. The same thing applies, for me, when it comes to the new tactical flashpoint. Tython is boring and dull, whereas, Korriban has maintained its appeal.

Only if you are one of those "I breathe Dark Side! I'm Dark Side!" weirdos then yes it is a lot of running back to areas you just finished.

Ord Mantell > Tython >= Hutta > Korriban

Usually end up close to Light I leaving Tython, and still find it to have more back tracking than other areas.

Oh and another thing I dislike is that the Council chambers doesn't exist, it is just a 'click here for cut scene' so you have this mass of people all standing around the 'door' to the chamber watching their cut scene.

Just feels like Tython / Jedi got slighted as they didn't even bother to put in an actual Council chamber room.

Visually, it's one of the best looking planets, and just a nice place to visit. Non-class story questing can leave something to be desired. If it had spent more time on studying the Jedi past and less on fighting Flesh Raiders that might have worked better.

Compared to what, the other starting planets? It is the biggest of the 4 mainly due to the Foundry area.

Award for planet that goes on far too long and is way bigger than it needs to be = Hoth. It's like "Oh thanks for making the planet with the least amount of diversity the biggest one in the game, that's really great. Also if you could spread out the bases/speeders as far as you possibly can so that it takes forever to get somewhere. Could you also fill the majority of areas with nothingness? Thank you. PS the Ship Graveyard looks cool at a distance."

That first time I walked over the hill and saw the jedi temple and the return of the jedi music started playing, that was probably my top moment playing SWTOR. Tython was pretty, and had an interesting history to it. Korriban in comparison had a neat history to it, but holy christ it was tedious. Tomb after tomb that all looked the same, or sand and brown rocks.
