As for housing I personally don't see any practical use for housing, every player already has personal ship, plus fleet will be always #1 hub in game.
Yeah, I imagine obtaining a guild flagship will feel like an accomplishment. I hope it will challenging.

To that end, my guild is already working on saving credits assuming a pretty hefty cost. If and when additional information is released that shows more than just credits will be required, such as quests or something, we will plan and mobilize and do those things, too.

That's what (good) guilds do.

So, yes, absolutely! Bring on the acquisition path. We're up to the challenge and then some!

+1.

It would be a shame guild ships were simply "10,000 cc unlock" / "50 million credits" and you're done.

Preferably (for me at least) It would be pretty great if it there were gotten at the end of some sort of activity / quest line / etc that required guild members to do actually do things, and at the END of that require the cc/credit unlock.

It would be great if there was a guild quest chain to acquire the ship. Something more than just a credit/cc unlock

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment here. But since the previous poster you were responding to raised the HK quest as an example, I do hope that whatever process they establish for acquiring a flagship, regardless of how challenging it is, has individual steps that are more entertaining than the bulk of the HK quest-line (digging up parts) proved to be.

Agree. That whole HK digging up parts crap reminded me of Asheron's Call 2, and that whole random time wasting model needs to be purged from the thought process of every game developer everywhere.

At least the Burba thing works better than the GSI one, but yeah, would prefer dungeoneering or questing for guild flagships.
I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

On one level I appreciate any effort on the part of the devs to say: "What can we do that will be different than another 'kill X number of these mobs and collect their spleens' quest?" but they really need to find something that's actually interesting when they do that.

Oh well, there are worse things in the world than trying something different and finding out it doesn't quite work as implemented.

I think if they combined the Burba locator with the GSI directional locator it would be better, the Burba one gives meters away while the GSI gives a direction. Put them together and you've got an actual device that works. It would tell you that something is 20 meters away in a general directional cone. You still need to triangulate, but with a much better sense of where to go and how far away from current location.

I'd like this myself. Something like "raid the base to find the location of the shipyard. Destroy the star destroyer guarding the shipyard. Board the ship & clear it of enemies." Then pay cc's/credits to repair & refit your new guild ship.
