Devs at the latest cantina: Class Story, not at the moment...

There is a significant issue with "throwing a bone out there" for the class story fans.

Throwing a bone out would be extremely simple, low class work.

"Why can't I just get a text email or single class quest with paper dialogue?"
---Simple. That's not how bioware operates. They don't create "paper dialogue" or create low quality class quest. Just like BMW doesn't make a $10,000 car. Sure, some people want a cheap BMW but they don't exist (relatively speaking).

If bioware is going to EVER do class quests they will do they RIGHT. They will do them the way the way the company deems proper. That is why you don't get some el cheapo dialogue quest.

Stop asking for ridiculous things and you will be much happier.

I get what people are saying: Throw a bone to Class-story fans in the form of just a couple of quests in the midst of non-class quests on places like Oricon. God knows, I can see Sith Inquisitors being hyped about wanting to either gather up Dread Master relics and holocrons to either study or destroy, but is the creation of that quest going to do anything more than add something to the 'to-do' list? Will it advance the story in a meaningful way or is it just a sop to the Class Story fans?

Also, would Class-Story fans be content with 1 or two quests every six months or so? Or would it simply be the crack in the door for them to hammer at and demand more and more from the Development team that have already said, endlessly, that the focus is now on the entire story and not just your own personal story?

Finally, there's this: We know that they can introduce new items to the game via the CM that results in new story content. I mean the Shroud Data Cubes and the addition of Treek as a new companion.

I would be 'okay' with them releasing Sith Inquisitor Packs on the Cartel Market containing 3-5 Daily Quests that focus on new questing zones that add to the existing SI story. The rewards would minuscule and probably be CM reskinned armor/weapon shells rewarded after the first completion, but repeatable every day for a few credits.
I think somehow what I originally suggested got morphed into a different argument.

For me:

I am NOT saying toss in 1-2 quests PER CLASS in between major planet expansions. Class stories are done, and those 1-2 become 8-16 for all the classes.

What I AM Suggesting is that rather than plan for and hang onto all the story questing for those expansions which happen every year and a half or so, plan for and have 1-2 short faction quests released every 2-3 months with some class story flavor where appropriate, that tie up loose ends from the last planetary expansion and lead into the upcoming planetary expansion.

THAT shouldn't be hard or impossible for development, and it would keep quest story folks happy until the new planet expansion drops.

- Player housing

- Training dummies on our ships
- Color changes from Test for armor
- Balance passes (finally)
- Holiday events
- More cross faction play to increase PvP (Oricon/CZ)

Those were all ASKED for features Arkerus. Asking for things DOES help, despite your best attempt to pretend it doesn't.

Not necessarily directed at you, but, yes asking is the first and a necessary step and good and all.

However, after we ask and get an answer, especially if that answer is, "no", we might consider behaving differently than petulant children do and stop asking for the same thing over and over again.

Mommy, can I have candy? No. Mommy can I have candy? No. Mommy can I have candy? *smack*

BioWare, can we have Guild Capital Ships? Wall of Crazy. *time passes* Here, have some Guild Flagships!

BioWare, can we have more class story? No. BioWare, can we have more good story? *Contracts Alexander Freed*

Neat how that works, isn't it?

My statement was intended to portray that constantly asking, basically heckling the developers is not, and will never be, the only way to get things done.

The developers will also create and modify the game in regards to things we DON'T ask for, because in the end, its their game. Just as the WoW developers (and other companies have stated), they have their own visions that don't always align with the forums and at the end of the day, if they do what they do, its up to you to decide what to play.

Its the whole reason they have to preface Q&A's with "we won't be talking about X, Y or Z." I want new class stories too, but honestly, I'm not going to beg on the forums for it. No means no. (Until they change their mind.)

And I have already explained why they aren't throwing a bone to anyone.

Then skip these type of posts if they bother you so much. People are able to ask anything they like without being badgered by other players for asking it too many times. If their posts become spam, report them and move on. It's not your duty to police the forums for the right things to ask or not ask for.
