I'd be pretty okay with them going away.

And the "they only encompass 12% of every pack!" argument would be sound if stuff that people had been demanding for a while now - new models, traditional Jedi robes, etc. - encompassed...I dunno, even 10% of every new pack. Which they absolutely do not.

Ah, that explains it then. ^^ Lucky me for picking that particular armor then, I didn't know he would be buggy with the rest of them.

There's been a demand for equal opportunity skimp for a good while. That discussion linked earlier in this thread demonstrates this. But for the last time - it's not just gay people asking for it . Some female gamers (me included) are fine with male players dressing their female characters and companions in slave girl outfits etc - we just want the same opportunity with our male characters.
I never had a problem with people dressing up their characters however they liked, but a couple of years ago I probably wouldn't have approved with dressing your companions to slave girl outfit simply because of the unfortunate implications of having a male with full armor and having his female companion that follows him everywhere he goes in a slave bikinis.
But nowadays, being older, wiser and able to dress up my male companions, I promise to help you to convince your Kira that slave girl outfit is the newest fashion on Coruscant if you help me convince my Tharan that casual vandal set would make him look like a serious scientist. So count me in to that group of female gamers. I'm okay with half-naked outfits as long as I can use them on both genders.

But yeah, these outfits surely are just for the "gay community". Just like the slave bikinis are just for lesbians.

I'm also one of those female gamers actually. I like my Andronikos in his unfettered trench coat.

As you stated - I don't mind guys dressing their characters up as long as I get to do the same.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my issues with the current spate of "revealing" armor is more of a problem with the art team "getting into a rut".

For example, the Cyborg sets. For, what...six packages?...we had a Cyborg set. Each set except the last one was just slightly different from the one before (the last one just stunk on ice). Now, we have a run on gear that shows a bit of skin.

The issue isn't the skin, it's the dev team running something into the ground until it "jumps the shark". Then they move on to the next idea brainstormed into the wee hours of the morning fueled by Red Bull and sushi...(okay, that's all supposition, but it's how I"D brainstorm...)
"50 Grades of Shae", a heart-warming novel about a Mandalorian that delivers beat-downs and assigns grades to her victims.

Let's see.
In these four starfighter packs we have (2 released, 2 to be released) there are a total of 46 outfits.
Out of those, 8 are completely new models (Lore Outfits).
That's more than 17%.
Hell, if you count the Cybernetic set as one new model (since, yes there are 4 versions of it, but it isn't a reskin of something in the game) that goes up to more than 19%.

So I guess you are ok with the packs?

The main problem here seems to be that people only see the stuff they wanna see.
They ***** and moan about there being "nothing new" when there are, in fact, plenty of new stuff.
It's just not the stuff they want.

But there is new stuff.

Right now it seems to be (when it comes to outfits, because that's what we are talking about) 15-20% "skimpy" gear. 15-20% New models and 60-70% retextured or remodeled items from the game.
And I'm fine with that.
In any gambling pack there has to be the filling. And having 20% new outfits is pretty ok in my book. Especially since the "retextured" stuff we are getting is adaptable so every class can wear it.

Ummm....female characters have revealing outfits, why can't male characters have any too? To not have them would be...sexist, wouldn't it?

Also, you seem to have forgotten that there are straight female players too.

Let's look at the last 2 starfighter packs and this next one (in april).

We have a total of 35 outfits in those 3 packs.
Out of those 6 were outfits with "holes cut in them".

That's 2 for every pack.
And we average 12 outfits per pack.
That leaves 10 "normal" outfits in every pack.

Not to mention the fact that these outfits that have "holes cut in them" are already in the game without the holes in most cases.
Sure, not always as orange adaptable gear, but so what? Most of the stuff that's in the game already aren't adaptable either.
Now, if you want them to release all the gear in the game as adaptable, that's another thread.
But it's not exactly an avalanche of "naughty" outfits coming at us.
At most it's a slow trickle.

(and just for the sake of full disclosure, we had a total of 3 outfits in the bounty hunter packs that were like this)
I'm pretty sure me and 200 singles I dropped the other night have a whole different theory on what naughty is!

I think thats the problem, anything not catering to -their- fantasies is "icky"

Straight female player that's not into them = bad/doesn't exist

Male char that doesn't look like he was raised in an amish commune = gay

But a G.I.R.L. running around in slave gear is A-OK

I for one enjoy the skimpy gear. Granted, I don't want my girls' ***** falling out of their outfits. Imagine leaping to a boss only to have one come flying out and stunning them. Almost reminds me of Everquest's 'booby taunt'. I kid. But seriously, I know us female players wanted something more than ONLY slave outfits that revealed a bit of skin, and some males wanted their males to show off their abs.

There's nothing wrong with it and they do incorporate the more 'traditional' outfits too that cover everything up.
