Ouch, the irony. It hurts.

I do actually have my own suspicions that a lot of the opposition to these "skimpy" sets come from some underlying... social views (since aside from complaints about reskins in general, this is the only themed line I've seen complaints singled out for - I haven't noticed any "Stop all the cyborg armors!" or "Enough with the KOTOR lore sets!" threads, although I admit it's possible I just haven't personally seen them).

But ascribing motives to someone, particularly based on an internet post or two, is asking for trouble in general, so i prefer to just tackle arguments themselves as presented. At least until an underlying agenda becomes so obvious it's screaming to be called out.

Precisely. Why do people here assume that skimpy male clothes only appeal to gay men? These outfits is that they aren't gender-specific, and it seems that distinction is what upsets some posters. Had the outfits been female-only, would the same posters make the same complaints about female skimp and skanky looks? Would they complain about catering to the "male gamer stereotype community"?

I've said it before, one of the nicest things about this game is that you can dress your character up however you'd like, from start to finish. You want your PT in slave outfit? Go nuts! Want your Sniper in a banana hammock and not much else? Have at it! Want your Sage to look like a 15th century nun, or your Slinger to look like a roguish fop? There's an outfit for you too! It's not like in other games, where you get your gear with one look, and often it was "foot-thick steel wall" for male and "chainmail bikini" for female. Moreover, you have to seek these outfits out and buy them yourself. They're not handed to you without your saying so. If you get it in a pack, you can sell it, and make some sweet credits from the sale. Wins all around.

I am not against skimpy out fits, but these are terrible. Really really terrible. It is failure in design.

Seriously, For years games (including this one) have had skimpy gear for women with big ****.

But as soon as we get a little skin for men people are all up in arms.

Now if you excuse me I will get back to tanking in my underwear.
Hit the nail on the head. Skimp is apparently only ok if female characters are wearing it.

Well sod that.

And to the comment about the same few people asking for it in one thread - it comes across most of the time as the same few people asking for traditional jedi robes too. I guess they shouldn't be listened to either.

The biggest problem with this line of thinking is that they are not for sale on the market, and shoved in lucky dip gamble boxes as fillers, where you have no choice.
What percentage of these boxes are being bought for this particular gear? Its impossible to say.

I wonder when we'll see well designed thought about armors. Not a reskin or recolor of excisting armors.
