Almost positive this is a comment ment to be funny, however in case it isn't I just want to list a couple MMO's that came out before WoW.

Ultima Online was outstanding, however I have heard tale there was an MMO before it. Then there was Everquest, not sure how folks can forget that one, it was as far as I can remember the first 3D MMO. Then you had Dark Ages of Camelot, still before WoW and in the same year you had Anarchy Online. Two years later you had Star Wars Galaxies, finally a year after that you had WoW. I am also sure I am missing a few MMO's, but those were the ones I remember.

I'll too be gone after my playtime runs out, and I don't even care what comes after SWTOR. Everything seems to be more appealing at this point. I guess WildStar is at least a solid option concerning PVP.
The Whiteclaw Legacy on The Red Eclipse.
When I say "grow a pair", I'm talking 'bout a pair of lekku.

SWG might have had <50,000 players for the last few years of its life, but over that time period it was a more engaging, more fun game than this one. And the community was infinitely better.

Yeah. I still enjoyed it, even when it wasn't as packed, I could always find something to do on it. Half the time I just log on SWTOR anymore and send people out on missions. Most of the peeps I played with have quit, so its mostly solo queing for me, which isn't that fun anymore.

I can't see BF hurting SWTOR that much. Heck I'll get it first day and play the sh*t out of it, but leaving a mmo where I spent over two years building my chars/legacy for a multiplayer shooter...just can't see that. Unless you're talking about the people who joined SWTOR for the sole reason of PvPing..those I'd guess left a long time ago?

I'll be sticking around. I like the pvp in this game. That being said, if there was a viable option out there I would probably jump ship. Wildstar looked interesting until I saw the PvP. You can only select a few skills out of many, and the red blue templates that pop up on the ground just seems silly to me.

Anyone have any input on ESO pvp? I hear bad things.

Other than Wildstar and ESO, is there anything on the horizon?

I am not unsubbing yet. I want to play the new HB and try out the new FPs, but this currently follows the same pattern that I had with a game I played for years before SWTOR, DOTA. I played dota on Warcraft 3 platform for years. In the last 2-3 years I plated dota, most of the population migrated to dota 2, which I did not like for many reasons, and the population was squeezed in. What was left was mostly elites and bad casuals. Everyone I played with left the game.

SWTOR is going through the exact same pattern. The PvP population has been dying since ever. Devs don't give a f***. Add to that the direction the game going now a days is fashion shows and Cartel Coins. If you open cartel market, you will see a whole bunch of GSF cosmetics. Same will follow for player housing and guild ships. There will be craft-able items, but a lot of CC. Basically, any new game features, especially ones that require investment of time and resources from BW, will be aimed to milk the subscriber base. If they can't sell CC on it, they won't advocate any resources to it. Eventually it will be SIMS in the space with decent PvE and side module called PvP.

I will probably unsub and visit the game back when they have a new expansion with level increase in a couple of month year.

Amen. The population took a nose dive after the NGE but slowly picked back up again for awhile until near the very end around the time of the mass server merges. Nothing will beat those AH vs Bestine battle Pre-CU, but some of the non-stop 24-36 hr battle over the static GCW bases were epic too.

And as far as the community went: I have yet to find another MMO that can remotely come close to what was in SWG. My guild has split up between numerous games, but we still chill in TS together and/or play together. Hell I've known pistols since 2005. Taught me everything I know about RPing a light side Jedi. Thanks bro!

Been playing ESO beta and pretty much living in Cyrodiil. It has the best siege and open world PvP out there and it isn't even close. GW2 has it to an extent, but the entire map there is only the size of from one keep to another (ie a fraction of Cyrodiils size) and that makes death more penalizing as its not as easy to rez and its a long walk back. Couple that with smaller, more organized groups where everyone can sneak can then combat the zergs, and it makes zerging less dominant. (although, they certainly are a factor)

Here is a size comparison.

Combat starts off seemingly boring, but dig into the skill calculators and how builds work and how you are limited by resources and it gets a lot more dramatic in both combat, and the variety of possibilities for you to explore. Everything but class and race can be changed at some point, and you can get plenty of points to have more than a couple complete builds you can suit up and fill your bar to use at any time outside of combat. I for example, have a tanky build wearing medium armor with abilities to let me hammer away in melee range and survive, but will have points spent to be able to sometimes run in a ranged, healing build in light armor and kite and can have all the abilities trained, I just cannot slot them at the same time or in mid combat. If need be, though; you can respec points, but it gets expensive.

If you like arenas and warzones though, you will want to check out something else. I do not care for that stuff so, it's a no brainer for me. At least until Camelot Unchained or something like that comes out.
