Dark side/light side points cap

What OP's talking about is if you take ONE SINGLE LS/DS choice, you can't get DS V or LS V. You'll be... lets say -10000 DS +50 LS, making your "total" -9950 DS, with no way to get more than -10000 DS points, making DS V impossible

does anyone have proof that there's no DS/LS cap at 10,000 points? like a screenshot of their character with 10050 DS points and 50 LS points or whatever?

I have no idea whats going on. I keep choosing dark options but I can't go past 900 Dark and 300 light.. and there is a lightsaber in my inventory I want to use that need tier 1 dark side..

The only reason I picked light side options is because I use my number keys to select options and didn't know when I was choosing alignment options.. I have fixed that since though.

So is this a bug? Why aren't I getting more than 900 dark side points?

Fu*k. Is this still true? At first I tried to stay neutral because I didn't know what I was doing so I chose some light side conversations...

Then I ended up going full dark side after a little bit. So can I never get to a maxed out dark side?

This would royally piss me off. This needs a response from an admin. I'm just going to delete this character if that is still true...

When you get to a total of 10000 points (both Light and Dark side) any more points added will subtract from the opposite side. For example i had 99xx Dark side points and a few light side from doing diplomacy and my total was 10000. After doing some dark side diplomacy options I was at 0 light side and an even 10000 dark.

Can you get to max dark side without diplomacy? What if I made mistakes and got to 300 light side...will I NEED diplomacy to get rid of that 300 light side?

Do you have to do every quest in the game in order to max your light/dark side?

Diplomacy was just an example, anything that awards dark or light side points applies. As to the other question I made all dark side choices and had diplomacy and got to 10k in the mid 40s.

I wonder if you can achieve 10k pre-50 without diplomacy...hmm. I'm sending all my companions on slicing trips to get as many credits as I can for level 50. I'm sure you spend a **** ton right off the bat at lvl 50.

i hit 10k dark side at level 37 with diplomacy and picking just about every evil option in existence along with instance farming..

I am a little scared at the moment as now I wanted to play a bit more level headed and have picked some dark and lightside options. However I seem to have received no dark side options and all the lightside, so despite my chat log looking something like

+100 Dark side
+150 Light side.

I am now, 150 Light Side, 10,000 Dark side = 9,850 Dark Side.

Surely I should have been 9,950 Dark Side? I hope its just a bug because the dark side was given before I got the light side points but if not. Then what I have now lost my chance to get the level 50 Dark side mount?

edit: as some people seem to have gotten the wrong message in the messages I received.

I was Tier V dark side after having made lightside options once or twice while levelling so you can reach max tier regardless, my issue is once you have reached max.
