Official Petition: Please DO NOT create another tier of PvP gear for 2.7

No, I'm just telling you the reality. BW doesn't give a damn. There will be a new gear set just like they will completely break two specs in the game. They rarely if ever change their mind, and they certainly are not going to spend their time redesigning the gear system that the game has been almost entirely built around. They can barely handle bolster as is.

If you don't like gear grinds there is this game called GW2...Go play that.

I am not against tiered gear progression, as others said it gives a goal to work towards.
I am also not against bolster, as I think it is the best solution to allow as many people as possible to participate in PvP, which is a win for everybody (newcomers and diehards alike, more people is more cues is more action is more fun).

But as has been elaborated in several threads the current bolster system messes with the tiered gear system in a way that top tier gear is not or only barely better than bolstered low-lvl gear. This is a fact right now and for me (and many others it seems) this removes any motivation whatsoever to continue the gear grind. The carrot turns out to be foul when you reach it, so to speak. So I play PvP when I feel like it, rotate through my alts and have fun. But I couldn't care less for the gear (well I care enough to have decent stats either by bolster or pvp gear)

So, I also wholeheartedly sign this petition to not introduce a new gear tier right now.
Before we get new gear, you should get a clear idea what bolster is meant to achieve first. Then make up your mind how the various tiers of pvp gear should stand in respect to bolstered gear. Communicate this to the player base. Make sure it works reasonably close to the intention. Consider the time it needs to get the different gear tiers. Compare the effort with the gains. Judge if it sounds reasonable, if not adjust accordingly. If all these preconditions are in place, well then maybe it is time for a new gear tier.

Right now to get a competitive set with bolster takes maybe one hour of forum research and around 100 planetary comms. Compare this to the effort it takes to get a full set of Obroan gear. This is way out of balance. And as long this balance is broken a new tier of gear is pointless.

And, as an afterthought: Please don't tinker with the idea to "fix" bolster by making the new gear tier the only one that is clearly better than bolstered gear (which would be clearly better than Obroan as well). This would reward the die-hards (who would probably love this idea) but re-introduce the problem of beginners being crushed in PvP and leaving out of frustration. Don't go down that road again.

Remember when they changed their minds and admitted that 46 bolster is broken? Remember when they admitted that Concealment/Scrapper is too powerful and are nerfing HS/SF? Remember when they're admitting Rage/Focus is too powerful and are nerfing Smash? Remember when they changed Veng/Vig to exactly what players were asking for?

Remember when specs had nothing to do with this thread? Remember when this thread was in no way about redesigning gear? Cause I remember all of that.

I enjoy PvP but am not going through the same boring grind for the 7th time in 2 years! I am sick of daily WZ's and will cancel my account first.

On the other end, as soon as WIldstar is available, i quit SWTOR, a poor F2P with a poor support team.

They don't. If they did, they will also know that grinding all the regular comms is not a grind at all.

Jokes on you, wildstar has a gear grind as well.

Maybe it'll actually provide content to justify that gear grind?
