Wow, this post is 9 pages long and not a single yellow comment? I guess this is what we have to look forward to in 2014 with swtor... errors, errors, and more errors. Shame on the devs of this game for not caring about the players or a WEEK OLD BUG....... A WEEK OLD.....
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

Was finally able to log in today. My issue was the login/account page wouldn't load yet everything else on the site was working fine. Really weird. :S

I posted a guide that explains the steps I was able to use to fix the issue for myself. I made it pretty easy to follow, but advanced users might feel like they are being talked down to. I wrote it so that anyone can use it, not just so that advanced users can. Not 100% sure that it will fix it for you forever, but it worked for me long enough to let me log in.

Got a work-around as well.

Use your favorite proxy service. Ctunnel.com is serviceable. It let me login using that but I still had issues renewing my sub, but after navigating around the site for a bit, I went to a new tab and it allowed me to login normally without a proxy.

Using chrome atm.

This worked for me, thanks.

Wow @ all you silly, silly people that think this is a problem with your ISP's DNS. Case in point I've been using Google DNS all along, switching back and forth never did a thing for me, nor did flushing/ clearing DNS cache. The problem is somewhere within swtor.com's mess of a DNS...an incorrect entry exists for account.swtor.com. Typical time to live for a DNS record is one hour, so if all the proper DNS entries existed for account.swtor.com at their DNS then your ISP's DNS would have re-cached the proper IP address eventually.

My guess is that sometime recently, they relocated account.swtor.com to a new server but have a conflicting DNS record somewhere that is pointing to the old location. Alas, shown below is a reverse lookup on account.swtor.com when I couldn't login:

* Dns resolved account.swtor.com to 23.218.75.8

Reverse lookup after my fix:

* Dns resolved account.swtor.com to 23.209.219.8

What did I do to fix? I forced account.swtor.com to resolve to the proper IP address (thanks DunstanSkai) by editting my hosts file to include this entry:

23.209.219.8 account.swtor.com

Those of you that have had success switching DNS got lucky enough to hit an Swtor nameserver that contained proper info for account.swtor.com. Why no yellow posts you ask? Because this is a problem at their end, and they know it. They want you to sit here, racking your brains out trying to find workarounds because they don't currently know how to fix it. Just because you were able to login after reformatting your hard drive while standing on your head wearing your 1994 Buffalo Bills AFC Champions t-shirt doesn't mean you've found the proper solution.

Yea, this is pretty pathetic on their part that this issue is still ongoing.

I should NOT have to mess with my host files just to be able to access my account.

It seems it's pretty bad with the number of entries that they have for "account.swtor.com". If you use NSLOOKUP online tools from a few different sites, it seems that all of them return a different IP address.

Now that we've told them that much, I wonder if they can figure out how to fix their dns entries so that others can get into their accounts as well.

Really?

This is just absurd that they haven't fixed it already. I mean it's the account part of their website, this should have been fixed in the first hour.
