SO this game is defined as a non-explorative MMORPG game with space fighting? I don't think so. This game is described as an MMORPG with a Star Wars IP. It does have elements of exploration already in it, just not very well developed ones. Datacrons, security chests, hidden eggs/pet collectables etc...

I don't think you understand product definition my friend. You cannot release a game into said market segment without core elements to what said market segment is about.

Exploration is a given in any MMO' some do it better than others, this game doesn't.

What they mean is sandbox vs themepark. The OP wants a sandbox when this game is clearly a themepark.

Wait for it.

Because it's not an open ended, exploratory MMO.

Hmmm. See how that works?

How is it not open ended? So I hit level 55 and have to stop playing because the story is over and there is nothing to do? I can only level by completing missions? I can only level by competing in PVP? Open ended means playing in a style/completing the game in a way that you like. and you can do that in this game and any other MMO.

For you to say this game is so fundamentally different from Skyrim that it is asking for a different product is not true. Yes technically speaking they are different products One is called Skyrim and one is called SWTOR, however, such as a 'Cox' apple is a different product from a 'Bramley' apple is being pedantic. They are both apple's and have very similar properties.

Same as Skyrim and SWTOR have similar core mechanics, you can RPG, you can craft, you can explore (to a degree), you complete quests, these are the fundamental mechanics of MMORPG's and RPG's. AGAIN the clue is in the genre naming. the differences are one is offline and one is online with thousands of other players.

Games such as the Last of Us, Double Dragon, Sonic, Mario. these are not open ended. These you have to complete in the way the developers wanted you to complete them. There is no deviating from the path you start at A, go through B and finish at C.

He isn't asking for a sandbox style game either. He is asking for explorable areas and swimming and a few mini games.

Like SWTOR Skyrim is not a sandbox game. Sandbox is defined by the community being able to build and change the landscape of the game, create their own content within the game (not through mods).

Exploration/swimming is not purely an inherent mechanic of a sandbox game. WOW isa theme park game, RIFT, LoTRO, STO, all theme park games, all with better exploration than this game.

I think there is still to to explore in this game. For example, I recently stumbled into packs of level 55 mobs in Thuls region of Alderaan, and I was like whaaaat?
Hunting datacrons and Shroud droids brought me to some interesting places, OP should try that.

While I think underwater exploration might be fun and open up a lot of possibilities for future planets and FPs/OPs it would probably be too much of a hassle to implement at least for the foreseeable future.
Swimming on the other hand as in just swimming on the surface would go a long way to make the world of TOR a bit more believable. Ankle deep lakes and oceans are a bit of an immersion killer for me. Some swimming animation shouldn't have been too hard to implement and I get the feeling that it was maybe just missing because of the deadline TOR had to keep.
I think we can all agree, that TOR was launched too early which was partly the reason for the dramatic population decline in its early phase that we had to witness.

I think new planets would be great, but truthfully I would far prefer new zones for Tattooine. Corellia is also for me one of the worst planets, because the whole map is the war-torn cityscape. I would have liked to have some of outdoor Corellia as well.

Agree. Theme Park means the company has to make all changes and additions. So having chosen that design, the challenge is to add things to the degree they can keep the game providing new experiences (or the same experiences in new ways).

HERE IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

People who want sandbox gameplay stop making threads begging the devs to completely alter the game we all play. Instead, they go PLAY A GADDAM SANDBOX GAME.

Yeah, I played EQ1. I would never go back in a million years.
