im a lvl 24 jedi sent. playing solo.
i send out t7 and c2 on slicing missions for lockboxes
my slicing skill is 228
for the past 30 missions i have spent 19189 and gotten back 12264 for a net loss of 6925... i hear every one saying that slicing is where its at, but im not seeing it. not if im taking a perpetual loss every 30 missions. can someone help with this? Id like to be able to fund my archeology and treasure hunting with the credits i get from slicing but if i keep taking a loss im not a hundred percent sure its worth it.. any help would be greatly appreciated

Sample size is too small. I have made a lot on it, and I'm only 250. Give it time, it varies.

Thats what you get for trying to print money.
anyway it sounds like you're just falling victim to RNG.

Slicing missions are like sending your companions to a casino to make money.
They normally come back with less money then they started with but sometimes they come back with double or triple the credits which is what people brag about.
Slicing will not buy you a money bin for you to go swimming in like Scrooge McDuck anytime soon.
It is possible to make a profit though it isn't as much as some claim.

Its probably going to get nerfed anyway because all people are seeing are the big gains.

I easily earn a lot of credits through Slicing. Sometimes my companions bring back less than the mission cost, other times double or triple, like a poster said above. More importantly, my companions have found many schematics, both prototype and artifact. I will either learn them if I have the appropriate crew skill, or I will sell them on the trade market. Not only that, there are MANY places throughout your questing and exploration that will yield slicing nodes, which bring in plenty of credits for free. Those nodes will even yield schematics if you're lucky.

Be patient. As you're only level 24 you have not been able to see the benefits of slicing as others have claim.

You CAN make decent cash but the key is mission selection. I'm level 14 and have over 181K in the bank. Take a look at this.... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...UE&output=html

Follow this dude's guide. It's killer.

The only thing I'd add to it is that even thought the highest level missions aren't as profitable as the lower ones in terms of pure cash, they CAN get you upper level schematics that may be worth more in the long run if you're crafting them. Or selling them.

I've rolled 7 more characters after my main, all with slicing, all starting with about 5000 credits (about what you've made after the starting zone). All except the most recent are sitting at 200,000+ credits and are swimming in mission items.

My advice: use Slicing while it's good.
