Hi all!

I'm new to the game and know little about it so I'm looking for people's opinion on which class is most similar to a rogue from WoW.

I don't find range appealing at all or much magic/casting.

So it's a toss up between assasin and imperial agent concealment.

People's input is greatly appreciated.

JK/SW Sentinel/Marauder
JC/SI Shadow/Assassin
RS/IA Scoundrel/Operative

All have stealth all have burst/high dps and medium or light armor.

Assassin is more like an enhancement shaman IMO.

IO is more the rogue dagger type char. It only slowly evolves into it though, from lvl 1-10 it plays more like the sniper AC (basically hunter without pet), from lvl 10-20 it is kinda rogue-ish, but still uses a fair amount of gun attacks. From 21 once you get lacerate you prettymuch only use knife attacks though.

Best thing that resembles a rogue from WoW on the Empire side is by far the Imperial Agent -> Operative -> Concealment tree.

On the Republic it would be the Scrapper (Scoundrel, Smuggler).

Not many people would think of that class at first, but they are the closest to a rogue you can get with their stealth, melee DPS and crowd control mechanics. Resemble rogues much better than Assassins (Sith Inquisitors) or Shadows (Jedi Consulars) do.

Of course story-wise Imperial Agents would suit them a lot too.

At what point do Sith War become a stealth class????

I have a lvl 35 Sith War Marauder I have a skill called force cloak but it is not stealth. Its a 4 sec threat dropper.

From the class progress vids I was assuming they could stealth as well but it would seem if they can its not till late game were as the Sith Inquiz going assassin line gets it really early like 10 or 12 i think somewere in that range.

The OP didn't ask about stealth. Sentinel / Marauder may be similar to the WoW rogue in terms of being dual-wielding melee burst damage classes - though I don't know for sure, not having played either yet.

Operative/Scoundrel, no force wielder plays anything like a WoW rogue.

Marauder and Sentinel have talent trees that remind me a lot of a couple of rogue trees.
Annihilation/Watchman = Assassination Rogue
Carnage/Combat = Combat Rogue

Operative and Scoundrel are like playing a Subtlety Rogue.
