Sooooo i dont know if anyone else has asked this in the past buuuuut!
Why do we get taxed on the GTN? And where does it go?!
Im laughing at the thought of this because its pretty funny, but i want
to know where my hard earned tax credits are going?!!?!? lol

To the hutts obviously, who are transporting your valuable stuff between all planets and even from the empire to the republic and back.

Concerning the risk of that, you should be happy about the small price you got to pay.

MMOs tend to have high inflation due to the currency literally being pulled out of thin air. The value of a single unit drops each time more credits come into the virtual world. One thing that is done to combat that, is to do what people call credit sinks. It simply is just charging for a feature to take that money out of the world. Biggest one might be repair bills and consumables rather than abilities. The tax on GTN is just a small one.
