Ok man, 3 sec its too much, and 15 k too lol. But i think that we must hit just like the other classes are doing now... 12 K smash its ok! But a 12 K Thundering Blast its so OP! lol
Just increase the damage to Thundering Blast to at least 13K and put it on a 15 sec cooldown with an activation time of 2 secs!
And then we can say ULIMITED POWEEEERRR!!!

What if I'd say that the only thing I want for my Sorcerer, is to have melee bonus damage on Willpower ?
...
And a more Jedi-ish/Sith-ish animation on Double Strike/Thrash ?



(My Sorcerer is not a child trying to break a piņata with a bat. It's a Sith with a Lightsaber. Thanks.)

If they do that we'll die as fast as we are dying now lol. Do u think we need a gap closer too??? So we can use our Lightsaber to kill all the Smash Monkeys out there?? LOLOLOLOL

Nope only for when they close the gap and are near to death.
So that I don't have to use Shock that I may be willing to use later (and costs so much), or use a "turn-into-instant proc" that may be more useful on someone else (Chain Lightning or Crushing Darkness depending on spec), or any cast that will get interrupted meaning I'll get more beating before dealing a mere finishing blow.

Or so that I can land an instant when I start fleeing from the melee player who has reached me, before using the ranged ones once I actually escaped from melee range. (You know, like instead of doing Shock then Force Speed, doing Thrash then Force Speed and Shock during Force Speed... It's not like I can't do it as now, but it does so meaningless damage that it's just wasting Force)

Like how I do with Stockstrike on my Commando and Shiv on my Sniper : not charging, but fighting back with adapted tools when melee occurs anyway.
That's all I want.

Yes, u are right, but we are supposed to only attack with range. I think that we need more tools to keep the enemy far from us. The sniper have Heavy Shot. If we got that ability in Thundering Blast it will help us too.
But what we need is more damage to kill the meele before they could touch us... like a sniper do.

LOL!! Yeah, not a good idea. As a ranged dps, we need that distance between us and melee, or else we are shut down.. A knock back tied into an ability similar to aimed shot would be helpful for the lightning/TK spec, and much needed especially in pvp.

Also if the 2.6 patch notes indicate anything I don't think they ever plan on doing anything like redesigning the class. Simple changes, if anything, will be all we will get.
So much reluctance to make Sorc and Merc a reliable class makes one thinking of inability.
What is the problem for instance, to increase the damage reduction of Lightning Barrier to 20%?
There is no important side-effect in PvE but would help PvP. The only unhappy would be some smashers and Assins with 10k maul. Well, guess they are OP.
Or shorten the cd of shield on Mercs. Again no serious side-effect on PvE but great help on PvP. I cannot think why such simple changes cannot be and have these strange and incomplete dps buffs instead.

I have advocated this for a while. The other ranged dps options have viable melee attacks that also perform defensive functions in pvp. I see no reason we should not have something similar since it is inevitable we will end up in melee range and it is unlikely for us to get off casted options up close.

We dont need a melee ability and we are not meant to be a melee class, and that would certainly be a wasted developement venture so I sure hope they put more thought and effort into something else for us....just because others have it isnt always a valid reason for us to, lets not go down the road of making all classes the same with different names for abilities. Now a finish move, would benefit any class.



Dots can be cast regardless of range, and 2 out of 3 are instant
Deathfield is instant
They are already talking about eliminating pushback, likely for FL and LS.

For when other Players or Enemy NPC are in melee range every single ability we have can still be used, nothing has a limitation much like leap does for some classes

You also have the following utility to create more range when needed

Overload
Electricute+Sprint or simply sprint

Creeping Terror Temp Snares
Force Lightning slows the target
Force Slow, nough said.
