Sure, I won't mind If I can't inspect your gear, I have no problem with that at all.

You will get kicked after an operation invite if I can't inspect your gear that I run.

There, now your precious privacy is intact.

Plus why are you playing an MMORPG if you want privacy?

This is so incredibly untrue. One 2 second glance at Fleet shows how patently untrue this is. Why would you say something so obviously false? I've never seen anyone wearing the same outfits as any of my toons and I have 16 of them.

We have a myriad of possible combinations and dyes.

You lose me when you start talking nonsense.

You are exactly right, we all have the same outfits with different colors. LOL you got me there.
As for the stat point, I lose you there b/c you know as well as everyone else that 99% of the people just clone whats on the web and try nothing new. Your power, crit and everything needs to be at this %. Um.....that's making us clones. And if someone does a different setup that is effective and he doesn't share it with people, either we can ask or figure something out on our own. Good for him.

1. That is the point. So either they can ask and the person tells them or not. It makes it desirable.
2. Um yes copying is cloning. But if both parties are cool with it, so be it.
3. Good for you, he let you copy and you did.
4. You just admitted it happens now, without the hide option. So no major issue here. It will still be a problem.
5. As for this red marking, well that was because people always say that I'm under geared simply because I think we should have the option to hide. With that logic, everyone in FFXI must have been under geared since all of us high levels went Anonymous unless we looked for a group. So you comment didn't really flow with mine. But educating them is a good thing.
6. --------- yeah?
7. Again you already stated we have these issue, so if the simply reminder you might have to give someone to turn it on for an quick inspect is to much work for you.....wow.

My main character is pretty well geared, and when I see someone inspecting me I find it to be more of a compliment than anything. But that being said, I think it is a good idea to have a hide inspection option.

To be completely honest, I makes little difference if an ops doesn't let you in because you are under geared or they don't let you in because they can't see your gear. Either way, you're not going. So why deny someone the thing they want to do when they have reason to use it? It won't impact the game all that much.. if at all.

Because there is no valid reason to use it. They aren't special snowflakes as much as their mother's made them believe that. The only thing that would come from it is a lot of extra drama and it would be stupid.

"Valid reason" does not require your approval. However, as good an idea as it is, I don't expect to see it in the game anytime soon.

Has nothing to do with "special snowflakiness." And it would create no extra drama.

I suppose that is true since most people can only follow instructions giving from others on rotation, skills, and stats. Granted there is hardly any options compared to some games for being an individual but people can modify their stats different than the guides and what people say about %'s.
Regardless, since it's a stupid idea for you, great. You wouldn't need to turn it on. Just like your profanity filter. Its stupid and we don't need it. O wait, I can just toggle that.......O so difficult.

I have no idea what you're trying to get at with your first point. Math exists and optimal stat distribution, builds, and rotations will always exist and be quantifiable. Always.

Your second argument is obviously comparing apples and oranges. Cursing is offensive to some people and even more important it's a necessary part of parental controls. Your proposed toggle has no useful purpose and either you are intentionally making these false analogies or you legitimately don't understand the difference.
