Can't complete Esseles.

I had this problem as well.

That they don't fix it baffles me... Esseles is the first flashpoint you get to play as a newcomer.
When a newcomer crashes at the end of a flashpoint and doesn't get his reward, what kind of message does it send ... Go away , or learn frustration already ?

This needs fixing.

2 years and the game is still broken.

I never had any problems with The Esseles but today I have - can't finish it, crash during last conversation. My friend who was grouped with me did not had crash on our first 2 tries, but on the third she also was kicked from the game.

Now I can't finish the conversation and she can't join Flashpoint to even try doing it again (she has some info about reseting it, and if she joins it solo she have it from the begining).

THIS IS GAMEBREAKING. Why I can't finish it if I should be supposed to?

Simple workaround that's let me complete this every time since I heard it from another every-time crasher.

- Make sure you're in "Fullscreen (Windowed)" mode. (Or, do Esseles in "Windowed" mode and skip the next step.)
- As you're returning to the bridge to speak with Haken, hit Alt+Enter to put it into "Windowed" mode. (It'll take a few seconds to redraw the screen, so give yourself time.)
- Right as you click to join or start the conversation with Haken that's going to be the lightspeed jump, minimize the game (before it actually starts).
- Wait about 5-8 seconds, then bring the game back up.

You should be good to go from there.

Yes, it's frustrating, as this has been broken since 1.3 or 1.4 (can't remember which), and Black Talon has been slightly less consistently broken in the same way (except after the "go to DK/don't go to DK" choice) for the same length of time.

But with this workaround, there's no reason you can't finish it. I haven't had it fail yet in about 25+ runs through Esseles.

No, for many, windowed mode doesn't work as, for some versions of Windows, minimizing doesn't help. The only reliable way is to be in full screen mode and use Alt-TAB. Anything else doesn't work for 100% of users.

Windowed may work for you, but I know it doesn't work for everyone.

I have to agree with this. How do they expect to keep new players if they crash in this flashpoint?

Two years and no fix. EA could care less about fixing it. All they care about is there precious cartel market.

this is still happening in 2014. Perhaps they need to hire some help

Same here, crashing every time at the end of the flashpoint. Once I even was in a group, and ALL 4 of us crashed. It was really funny, because all 4 of us were aware that we are going to crash in 5 seconds.

The thing that sucks about if all 4 of you crash is that it wipes out your progress and resets the FP. This is exactly what happened to me on my character a few nights ago, all 4 of us crashed.

This game was suposed to be a "WoW breaker", and has everything to be it, and for me one super important thing, the lore. Star Wars lore, expanded universe or not, is the best created so far.

Buuuuuutttt... i'm a pre-order and i've in game since the launch, with a few months off, have characters in american and EU servers and i'm still seeying errors that doomed SW:ToR: bugs, errors and "simple things" that ruin the game for the newcomers.
(actually i'm running the game at high/very high graphics with my brand new Alienware17, i7, 16gb RAM, 3gb dedicated video card, bla bla bla... and i still have the same FPS lag at Tython that i used to have at the game's launch)

PLEASE Bioware or whoelse is responsible for this, LISTEN to your players and FIX THINGS. I used to love all Bioware games and i love Star Wars Universe, but this can't continue this way.
Learn from Star Wars Galaxies, was a success even in your last momenst, bring his space combat and free space travel to SW:ToR and we maybe have a cool push up.


p.s.: In two years, i've never experienced something like this flashpoints problem, but now i'm having. Esseless and Black Talon...
