Legacy/Bulk Transfer Option

I play all 12, there aren't ones I 'Like the most", it changes on a daily to weekly basis. Some weeks I'll play my shadxow, some weeks I'll play my sorcerer, some my operative, some my powertech, etc. etc. etc.

They would lose no money because the automated service costs them no money.

Unless you mean in development time for a legacy transfer service, sure I'll cede to that. They'll take a few man hours to put something together that transfers an entire legacy. But it'll be worth it in the long run because they'll have a new option available for people who want to get off their server, but are unwilling to abandon characters or pay the current price for their entire legacy.

Let's cut the pathos from these posts and get down to brass tax. OP, how much do you think it should cost you to transfer your legacy to another server? Keep in mind that EA is not a charity, they need to run a business, make a profit, and show growth to their investors. So with those ideas in mind, let's hear what you think the price tag should be.

$60 (7900 CC) for a legacy transfer is fair, regardless of how many characters on it. You have 4 characters, you pay the same as someone who has 10. How many characters you have shouldn't matter, this is you abandoning your server and moving to another, and you are paying for that privilege. Picking up and moving entirely.

There could be the same limits, for a character to transfer with the legacy they have to be level 10, they have to have not been transferred in the last 72 hours, etc. etc. even with extra stipulations like you can only legacy transfer once per month.

Yes I mean in man hours but I also mean in theoretical money gained from transfers. By that I mean the people who would just bite the bullet and transfer the characters over.
I understand you want it for cheaper but even if they decide to do a "legacy transfer package" there's no sense in it costing $60. I would assume it would be closer to the 100 dollar mark and that in and of itself is where the problem lies, a 20 dollar purchase is in the realm of an impulse buy but as soon as there are 3 digits involved it becomes a contemplated purchase. Most people would not think it wise to spend $100 on a video game perk, not only that but then you get the bad PR of "OMG $100 TO MOVE MY CHARACTERS THIS IS A SLAP IN THE FACE!!!" that would inevitably follow. I do not think they will add this as an option because of that alone, though admittedly I maybe wrong.

I don't have a problem with that. It's a good price point. I support this legacy transfer option.

Honestly, $100 seems fair when you facotr in 12 characters, but my suggestion is for a legacy package regardless of characters on the account. $60 seems fair for that.

A lot of people keep factoring in the half off for your first CC purchase, guess what - most of us have bought CC by now so we don't get that privilege. At $40 for 5500 cc as our biggest investment option, and 1800 cc per transfer. The actual price comes to $157.09. So my $240 mark was vastly overestimating - apologies. $157 still seems too much to me.

I'm not looking to transfer any of my characters, but I fully support a package deal for legacies. Seems fair enough to charge whatever they do now for a single character and charge like $50 for a legacy.

The point of it isn't to give a "deal" to people with legacies. Rather, it encourages moving fully to a new server. If you have one character that you just desperately want to move, it should cost a little more (proportionally).

You do realize that everyone has a legacy..

Bioware is already priced at below the industry average for server transfers.. There is no need to have a legacy rate or discount.. They are already discounted when compared to many other games..

$60 for a legacy is absurd and a huge loss of money.. It isn't fair to Bioware.. What is to stop anyone from just creating some characters to get this lower rate.. That is why these bulk discounts are a bad idea.. What is to stop people from just creating a few characters to get the lower rate??

The OP just needs to come to terms with the way it is and pay up.. He does not deserve any kind of discount.. No matter how many characters he or anyone else has.. I have 8 characters, if I am going to want to move to a new server, then I will pay for every one of them..
