who's saying the game is dying? look back through the posts. some people are saying there is a population decline (because there is). some people are making up numbers for some reason. some people are offering possible explanations of why numbers might be in decline.

the only people saying "the game is dying" are people like you.

There was a population decline for quite awhile but it stabilized around the time that Makeb was released. Populations on the servers I play on (Harbinger & Begeren) have slowly but visibly grown since then. According the EA's last earnings report there are about 500k subs, plus another 1.7 million or so active F2P and preferred players.

People like me are vilified for complaining about the complainers, i.e. we disagree with "the game is dying" set, or "the game is failing" set, or "the Biodrone/fanboi/slur du jour name calling" set, and post links to substantiating documents that back us up. People like me call out posts that blatantly denigrate the game or its supporters.

The real question is, why does someone start an entire thread based on this: "i saw the huge decline the game had starting April 2013 But then today i found out that you can see for over upto a year on TorStatus and then i saw the huge decline the game had starting April 2013"? The answer is to review the poster's post history. I read the thread. I did the research. It's the same shovel spreading the same stuff.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

wow. you're the one saying the game is dying. it is in this post, and the one previous, where you typed "the game is dying." why would you pretend like it's other people making the claim? if i'm vilifying you, it's because you're fabricating the people you're attacking. i know you want to attack the OP for saying something that could be seen as somewhat negative, but if you have to fabricate something other than what they actually said, maybe you shouldn't be attacking them. you're not quoting people. you're making stuff up and then attributing the quote to either a person or a pretend group of people.

just because there is a decline, doesn't mean the game is dying, and it doesn't mean it will be permanent or even long lasting. a few people have offered pretty reasonable explanations as to why this might be happening.

it seems the two servers you mention are the most populated. you're experience may not be typical.

Twisting words around and misquoting to smear the reputation and fit the agenda. Perhaps you missed the "disagree" part of "disagree with 'the game is dying' set" quote. Interesting tactic Senator Rumson. Feel free to read my post history.

According to EAs last earning report revenue from subcriptions, advertising and other digital revenue went down for 16% compared to the last year (for all games , not only swtor, but swtor should be the biggest game under this category)

First, extra content and free-to-play contributed $127 million, up 11% over the prior year, led
by continued growth in FIFA Ultimate Team, FIFA Online 3, and Star Wars: The Old
Republic.

Q2 non-GAAP digital net revenue also contributed to the solid quarterly performance. Digital
net revenue increased by 11%
year-over-year to $348 million.

And fourth, subscriptions, advertising, and other digital revenue contributed $62 million,
down 16% over the same period last year. In the previous year, Star Wars: The Old
Republic was a subscription-only based MMO. This year, some of the revenue was
recognized in the free-to-play category as we expanded this title to be both a subscription
and free-to-play game.

Changing revenue recognition methods doesn't actually mean things are going poorly, just an fyi. SWTOR doesn't do advertising, they are a subscription model but we probably had many more subs during the EA Q2 of last year, and other digital revenue(emphasis on other, which is usually used to refer to something significantly different from the norm, and which is why its not put in with regular revenue, for example other comprehensive income) is something which TOR probably doesn't provide any of either.

isn't that an attempt at taking what someone said and making it mean something else?

you claim the OP of this thread, or some other mysterious ghost, said "the game is dying." they didn't.

If I moved to another thread, would you stalk me there too?

I just looked through the latest EA earnings report transcript and the Q&A, and couldn't find any mention of the number of subscribers. Where did you find this info?

Thanks!
