Alignment, WHY no neutral!?

Another scenario: Imperial Agent Geist loves his empire. He wants to make it the best empire it can be. However, he has to do a lot of bad things, since he believes it will make his empire good overall. That does not make him cruel, so if the job does not demand it, he takes the light side option. When he hits level 50, he is still completely neutral in alignment.

Does that mean he's indecisive?

No, just weak.

Maybe I missed the vendor or just can't find any on the AH, but are their any relics currently available that can be worn by someone with 'neutral' alignment?

I love making the decisions in game scenarios rather than forcing myself to be 'good/bad' just for gear. But, not being able to equip any relics isn't very appealing either.

I researched this question myself, and it appears to be yes. They are very hard to obtain however, and involve farming Datacrons. I am not sure of the details, so I suggest you wait until maximum level to play with them.

Yeah, that stuff is your neutral stuff.

Besides the light/dark stuff is just a cosmetic difference. You aren't losing out on any stats. Well, that was how it was in beta anyways. doubt it changed.
You are absolutely 100% wrong. There are major upgrades to weapons available ONLY if you have dark or light side levels and NONE (on the same vendor) for neutral. I haven't found a single item that is only available to neutral characters, nor have I found a weapon upgrade that doesn't have a restriction on it.

Not only that, the restrictions seem to only be for certain classes as only lightsabers have this light/dark requirement, so it's not even a consistent system. It's by far the worst way I've ever seen in a game to prevent players from making choices and restrict certain players from getting upgrades.

At the lower levels, the gear generally doesn't require one alignment...it generally only restricts one alignment. For example, you get a lightsaber that has a red crystal in it and is restricted to Light I and above or a lightsaber that has a blue crystal and is restrict to Dark I and above. Someone playing neutral can actually equip BOTH of these lightsabers as they are not restricted from either. However, you have higher level items requiring certain levels of light side or dark side to equip so that's where you need some neutral items that would be restricted if you were Light I/Dark I or higher.

I think it's very basic that all types of alignments (light/neutral/dark) should be able to distinguish themselves with outfits.

There are so many people who simple choose the dark/light option all the time to get dark/light IV as soon as possible. But, anyone who actually plays their character well are likely to not be fully dark/light, so it's very odd that such an alignment is punished by less choice.

A neutral faction is desperately needed, as well. I find it rather silly that Smugglers are forced to by aligned with the Republic. Smugglers should only be loyal to large stacks of credits and work for whoever is paying the most.

Ditto for Bounty Hunters. Now some may say Bounty Hunters are very Imperial leaning, and that is true in the movies because the Emperor basically threw so much money into tracking down Jedi that there was little incentive for bounty hunters to do their original jobs - namely, hunting down dangerous criminals... which is exactly what they did up until the time of the Star Wars movies (i.e. 3000+ years away from TOR). How does that make them evil? So then why are they forced to be Imperial in TOR?

And while I'm hijacking the subject, why are all Troopers with the Republic and all Agents with the Empire? Does the Republic not have their own spies? Does the Empire not have, well, regular soldiers? Seems like these are two classes that should be available for both sides.

Because of devirstity... I mean, they could have made a third faction, neutrals, for Smugglers, Bounty Hunters, Grey Jedi and maybe Jedi Hermits, or something like that... but the decided to go with the 2 faction build.
