Well there you go, not user error. People need to stop acting like it's our rigs and blaming it on us as if we're incompetent (which can be true, but it isn't in my case). Thanks for the post.

OK here'swhat you need to do. Go to the store and buy a can of air; take the side off of your computer and blow out all the dust from ALL of the fans, including your video card. Make sure you get all of the dust and whipe off any that is on any component. Close the case. Turn on your computer, run a disk clean-up and get rid of all of the files it has there, as they are only temp files. Then Defragment the drive. This should help tremendously with the issues you are having.

If the above sequence doesn't work for you, you either have corrupted files in your Windows install or some hardware that is flaky and about to go bad on you. Also, make sure you have enough wattage in your Power Supply to carry ALL of the hardware you are using. If the PS is under wattage, you will get everything you are complaining about while using a graphically intensive game. Rule of thumb is to have a Power Supply that is over your required wattage, so you can always upgrade later if you need. But one that is right on the edge of cpacity or under is bad for all of the hardware because brownouts can cause serious damage to your machine.

One thing you should do is always make sure that your computer can handle the job you require of it, brfore complaining that it is the softwares fault, because 90% of the time you are most likely wrong about the software

No problems at all here, about a 2 year old i7. I was having
an intermittent problem that I traced to the motherboard, changed
that and everything is just awesome now.

No, they are looking into it because they take the feedback seriously. Doesn't mean the problem is on their side. It could be, but they didn't say it wasn't user error. That is entirely your interpretation.

I hope in a sense that it is something they can fix on their side, don't get me wrong, but I hate it when people loosely expand on things other people say

i5 2500k
8gb DDR3 (1600) RAM
EVGA 570GTX

No problems here, I can max out settings on both the nvidia control panel and in game with 60+ FPS. I usually run max game settings with AA set to 32xCSAA and get 120+ FPS.

Nor dose anyone i know have these issues.

I may go back and edit some more formatting into this post for readability purposes, but for now it's just gonna be a wall of text because I'm in a hurry. Sorry.

Regarding the OP's specifically mentioned issues:

People with graphical issues who have NVIDIA cards: It's a driver issue. The latest driver (285.62) causes problems with SWTOR It'll be fixed when NVIDIA releases a new driver, or you can download the beta driver like I did if you're impatient (make sure it's a version number that starts with 290). Forcing AA should work correctly in the 290 driver as well. New games often have issues with current video card drivers and only work properly once the card manufacturers release new versions. This happened with Skyrim and BF3 and has happened many more times in the past. I don't have an ATI card so I can't say for sure, but it's likely that you ATI people are having a similar problem.

BSOD: It may happen while you're playing the game, but it's definitely a sign that something's wrong with your computer. Screwed up software can't make your computer BSOD all on its own. Computers have safeguards against that. So it's definitely an issue on your end and you should really post details about the BSOD online (possibly on a tech help forum rather than the SWTOR forums since the actual root of the problem has nothing to do with SWTOR) and ask for help. Specifically, what kind of error was it? SWTOR's memory use could result in a BSOD, but only if something is already very wrong with your computer. If your BSOD mentions something about a corrupted pagefile.sys, read the next paragraph.

Memory leak: It's likely that this isn't technically a memory leak at all, and is related to your BSOD issue, often the result of a corrupted pagefile. Google "how to fix corrupted pagefile.sys" to find steps to fix this, since I don't have the time to search for the instructions I used. I should note that fixing my pagefile and then rebooting my computer fixed a BSOD issue I was having (caused by Skyrim, rather than SWTOR, but the problem itself was likely the same), so I know for sure that it works. Also, there's a difference between "using lots of memory" and a genuine "memory leak" in that a memory leak means that the program isn't releasing memory that it's no longer using. There are different kinds of memory leaks, but the one that SWTOR probably has (if it has one at all) would cause the amount of memory the program uses to increase at a constant rate. As long as it's not doing that, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, unless you really just don't have enough actual memory to properly run SWTOR.

If I got anything wrong, feel free to correct me. But I've had some similar or identical issues and this is how I fixed them. Again, I'm sorry about the wall of text.

I only say this because I have a powerful rig, it's relatively new and I've never had any problems with any other, much more demanding game. I can't see how it has anything to do with my PC.

Wow that's unfortunate as the game runs perfect on my computer. I did put in the AA line of code in the .ini though which has made things 100xs better. But it was ok before that. Haven't had one crash.
