Well...in their defense, Anakin was a whiny little twit in 1-3+Clone Wars.

I feel like this community is turning into the horrible WoW community. Anyone agree?
There should be no general chat, just a trade chat that allows one to post once per five minutes, and perhaps a lfg channel with billeted choices, but no actual speech.

General chat is like a magnet for the dysfunctional...as is this general board. Very very little of any importance is ever put forth in general chat. Both should be eliminated from the gaming community. We do not need to hear people bloviating their inept philosophies, game design expertise, or vulgar sexual nonsense. They can do that on facebook or something.
May the Schwartz be with you....

I would hope that some Devs or Bioware employees would login and just see what is going on in chat "once in a while". It would only take less than a minute to see some of the worst things being said. It really doesn't take long at ALL for you to see some incredibly offensive things. They could send out a warning to the extreme offenders. I think most people would think twice about typing some of that stuff if they knew Devs or moderators "could" be on and "could" give out warnings and even temporary account suspensions for repeat offenders. You are always going to have cursing or trash talk, but I mean for the REALLY offensive stuff. Just a thought.

I disagree.I think this would be the perfect place for abnormal psychology students to get practical experience.Listen and learn. Then again half would probably drop their major and get their degrees in underwater pottery or something.

Underwater pottery? Lol. The idea of no general chat is interesting. But some MMOs do use it for good...sometimes,

You can always put it on other then you don't get the chat.Still because a small group of twits run their mouths it shouldn't ruin it for all.I do more listening then posting. There are some real good discussions on classes and that makes it worth while. It doesn't make sense to let a small minority of pampered princesses spoil it for all.Ignore is our friend.

One can only hope and assume you are joking.

I can understand what they mean. There are positives and negatives to having general chat. I still think the positives much outweigh the negatives for SW. Wow, on the other hand, is a different story.

That guy's suggestion to eliminate GC because he doesn't like it is a rather selfish one, no matter how nasty the chat gets. We have the profanity filter and the /ignore function and if things get really bad, we can turn the whole thing off.

eq2 had the best chat.

it was sever wide

it was tiered by level 1-9, 10-19 and etc. there was a separate chat for max level. had to be on a toon of that level to be in the chat. you had the choice to be in any or all channels.

it was used to find groups, sell raid drops and crafting. it wasn't abused as being on ignore prevented those.

some players actually monitored low level channels to actually help newbs.

I placed few players if ever on ignore.

in wow I filled my ignore list in 2 days. which game do you think had the most children playing?
