Frustrating!!

I can't log in to the game anymore without seeing complete and utter nonsense. What used to be a nice community with people helping each other, asking questions and getting real answers, and offering support has now turned ridiculous. As I sit and post my auctions in the Imperial Fleet for 5 minutes, all I see is person after person telling each other off and making fun of noobs for asking a simple, understandable questions.

I feel like this community is turning into the horrible WoW community. Anyone agree?

I dont know, I came from SWG and we did not have General Chat. It was all face to face chat with chat bubbles.

So maybe the people were the same but they did not act like it because it was more social, not to mention SWG had like 30 people and only 2 alts (some 3) per server so people knew each other more and if you were a racist or something you couldn't really hide

I do miss the smaller community personally.

Keep in mind that there were probally like 100-200 people on fleet and probally only 7 to 10 people being scum bags in general chat, so they are not the majroity of the community at that time.....just the loudest ones.

Do not compare the phenomenon to any actual game. What you see is normal no matter which game you play.It is in your hands to change that by providing helpful suggestions and talking down those who do opposite. Get busy, it does not happen by itself and do not expect others to do it to your satisfaction.

I can agree that GC has plenty of idiots making stupid "press alt-f4" jokes, but it's not any worse than it ever was or any worse than it is in any other MMO.

I agree, you see this in every MMO basically, especially after they become F2P. It just frustrates me...I guess when I first started playing, everyone was a noob so no one could really make fun of each other. I try to be as helpful as possible with new people, because we all know how it feels to be there. Wish there was a "block all idiots" button!!

Because as far as I can remember (and I've been here since the very start and changed 3 servers) the community has always been abysmal.

I saw the same things on day 1 of live launch ..... not early access, didn't see much nonsense then, but when it was released proper .... chat became full of utter tripe.

That increased slightly with the transition to free to play when more folk turned up.

It's a common theme on the internet as a whole. Where you have a large group of people it is inevitable you will have a group of idiots.

Sadly, it's the idiots that are the most vocal.

Human race acts the same no matter what game they're on, go, go change humanity, wish you uck with that one.

I find that the beginning planets are pretty quiet and there are a lot of people helping each other. But as soon as you hit the Imperial Fleet, it starts going downhill. Also, the higher level I get and the more quiet the planets are, the more helpful people are as well. Minus the random ridiculous comments from kids in general every now and then...

Belsavis chat is generally the coolest, because it has a content filter by level & it's the most appealing high level planet.
