It is really getting sad, all these people that demand a refund or compensation, every time Bioware makes a little mistake.. Does any other game give out a refund or game time?? WOW has made tons of mistakes.. I am still waiting on game time from them.. So far in the 2 years I have been playing this.. I have received an entire month free.. That is more than I have ever received from WOW for over 5 years..

Seriously.. These threads are pathetic.. Like none of us make any mistakes.. It is really just sad is all..

They made a mistake.. So what.. They have publically apologized.. Give them a break.. They don't owe any of us anything.. We at least owe them some respect and decency.. They kind we should extend to any human being..
Are you someone that works there and is just pretending to be a game player? Your posts are out of control fanboy and hard to take serious. I mean really, what would this company have to do wrong that would actually be considered wrong to you?

Luckily, I don't have a cap. But I'm thinking of those who do here and if I'm not mistaken, you get overcharged for going over your cap.
Or they could just wait until morning and only download the patch itself.

Forcing a few people to redownload some files, or having them wait until morning to save themselves the bandwidth isn't a big deal.

Hmm... on April 11th 2012, not long after I started playing this game, something like this happened to me and quite a few others. I had to re-download the entire game after a patch and I remember BW where quite quick in refunding us ( three days of extra game time), which was very nice of them and I am sure they will do the same, if not something similar, this time too. It is shame this has happened again, and I do wonder what happened. One can only hope that BW learn from this mistake and improve there systems further.

Personally speaking, I didn't really mind whether I got compensated or not when it happened to me. Mistakes do happen, and while it was annoying to re-download the game, it wasn't something that I felt warranted a compensation. Looking back, I can't help but to feel events like this perfectly tap in to the mindset of 'entitlement' sometimes, not always, but sometimes.

Anyway, that's just me...

Forcing people to redownload twenty gigabytes of data is a pretty big deal. Not everyone has unlimited ultra-high speed internet in their area.

uh huh. And what does that tell you? BioWare, in not even 2 years..has given out more time than a game that's been out over double the time longer because of screw-ups.

that's actually a point to Blizzard...they have their crap together a lot more than BioWare. And I don't mean because WoW's been out longer...they're more competent. They give free time out when they have big screw-ups as much as BIoWare does. Difference is....in the much longer period of time...Blizzard has screwed up less and hasn't HAD to give out as much free-time as BioWare has.

Because of Blizzard changing WoW's engine some 5 months before initial release, the game crashed incessantly for over a year. Quest givers would forget where you were and crash the game to the desktop. The Barrens was the absolute worst.

Blizzard was nice about handing out free time as compensation though, and they handed it out like candy until the Dire Maul patch (the second one that fixed the first one). That was almost 5 months after launch and they were still bailing bilge water. That should tell you squat.

Deuce in this game's punch bowl all you want because it's going to keep on keeping on. Most who were affected today will be back playing it again tomorrow - regardless of whether or not there is compensation. Deal with it. Please.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?
