good for you , they have almost every area a scanning mission you can do 24 hours long , for nice rewards .
It is called the seeker droid , heard of that one
it is now free with makeb expansion !

Got a reply; the whole HK parts-searching quest was fulfilled & closed for my by the support. I don't need to do any of the HK-parts search quests anymore.

One one hand, I'm very, very happy, on the other hand, since I'm a story player, I would have still liked to dig for the parts.
But I still have the GSI quests left.

Now, I must proceed to the next quest, since I seem to have all parts together now ( thanks to the support person ! ).
(No, I didn't look thoroughly into my character; I just took a quick glance, saw the support reply, the uest closed, advanced to the next quest (which is open for me now), and the HK parts all gone from the mission items inventory.)
And I'm on Vanjervalis Chain.

Got this solved with the first ticket in around 4 days when i was offline. They sent me a mail to notify me of it.

I have the same issue, was on 4/7 of parts gained (missing only the parts from Hoth, HM The Foundry & The False Emperor), reset on prior patch. Still have an open ticked about it (#10230996), no reply yet in the 3 days since it's been open.

Thing is, I've tried doing the quest again, as I figured CS would take longer than me getting the 4 parts I lost... however, Even after spending an entire hour on Taris and finally finding the part, I COULD NOT LOOT IT!
The system gives off the error "You do not currently need this item."

So please BioWare, fix this before the end of September, I want HK-51, but with bugs like this occurring because of rushed updates, I sure as hell won't be subscribing again any time soon.

Only had the last two parts to go, from the Flashpoints. All reset back to the beginning.

Put in a ticket, but don't expect they will honor it by restoring items as others have already posted they are basically saying 'too bad, so sad. Do it again'.

Day 5 of my ticket - No response yet from Customer Support - I have this issue with 6 characters, I would have completed the quest on at least 3 characters before the bugged patch if not for the bounty contract event delaying me, these 3 had 1 part to get each. Needless to say I am not happy, if not fixed when my subscription expires then I will not re subscribe!
It's your fault you put me in charge!

Is anyone else having problems not being able to loot the parts they had before after finding them again, even after the character who has the quest has progressed far enough for that to no longer be a problem, or is this happening to just me?

My 2 cents...

Ended up being contacted by a CS representative early in the morning, yesterday and 30 minutes later or so, I got the issue fixed on all eight(!!) characters that were plagued by this issue. Most of them only had one piece or so but in the end, all characters had their progress moved forward, to the point where you have to face the Lord of Agony inside the Fatality. Couldn't have asked for more to be honest...

Now the only issue is actually equipping HK-51 all over again, on the eight characters, lest a similar reset occur later on. You never know...

Customer Service fixed this for me. After 5 days (this seems to be the average time) they advanced my quest to the point where I need to kill the Lord of Agony. I am thankful they fixed this problem, and even went beyond what was needed as I only had 6/7 parts.

Kudos to the CS group. I know a lot of flak was being dished out on this, but you stepped up and handled it well.

Kate from SWTOR Customer Service was friendly and helpful in fixing my HK-51 Companion Quests on three characters.
