With the way some of the armors have their dye Primary and secondary colors reversed, this hardly surprises me.

The Knight(Guardian) Black Hole Mk-1 chestpiece, for example... The metal is considered the primary (despite Jedi armor typically focusing on the robe portion), and the robes the secondary....leading to some really strange combinations.

Im glad to be part of a game that allows for customization.

Keep the dyes coming and keep the armor pieces coming.

Oh, yeah, you have RP, you have customisation, you have players who give a damn about their characters not looking like Ren-Fair reject abominations, than you very much. Way to be patronising to those of us with some modicum of artistic know-how, who look at the higher level armour designs and stare, as our brain-cells line up to commit mass suicide.

I, for one, don't want appearance tied to gear. Especially not gear with arbitrary, BS level locks on it. City of Heroes (RIP) was the only game I know of that did it right, where you designed your character at level 1 and they looked that way until level 50. Unless, of course, you wanted to change that. Oh, and you had multiple slots for different 'costumes' (it was a Super Hero/Villain game, it made sense) and, while you could unlock certain things that were mission or level specific, the majority of stuff was there at level 1. And it was VERY rare you saw characters looking the same, leading to some cool themed groups and the like.

Unlike here, where the higher levels look like Star Wars and WoW and Final Fantasy woke up after a drunken, raunchy party and realised they'd had a three-way hell-spawn of a child...

Man, I miss my squids. They were about to get a buff, along with Blasters, before NCSoft murdered the game T_T

Welcome to the world of Star Wars....Star Wars has been around loooong before any MMO and has a fan following that dates back since before I am betting you were born. Many players who play this game, including myself, would not even be here if it were not for the fact that this game has a Star Wars title and the fact that you can create your own unique look that fits Star Wars lore.

If I had to run around looking like a dork, I would not play this game. If you want a game that has nothing but stats, I suggest you create your own MMO that has nothing but stick figures for your avatars and make it a stat only game. Good luck finding players who would actually play it though. You may go broke before Beta is even over.

OP should probably stay away from TF2 if he feels this way about SWTOR.

Also, OP should probably realize that the General forums is a bad place to talk about theorycrafting.

Wrong bet. I was watching it in the movie back in 1978.
And all I was saying is about giving sooooo much importance to looks , like its game-breaking. Nothing about gameplay. Sadly, BW filled ToR with cosmetics, making it a fashion show on par with facebook games and avoiding QoL improvements.

Man, that argument is as weak as people telling 'whiners' to go play Tetris....ignoring the fact that Tetris is a) a totally different genre, b) actually HARDER than most games these days.

Most facebook games are not engaging RPGs, and sure as hell don't have any customisation. Or at least seem to. Wouldn't touch the damn things with a mile long bargepole. Still, nice try and backhanded insults and dismissal of people who have perfectly valid concerns of their own and who, oh hey, might ALSO like QoL improvements to not be ignored? Imagine that!

But no, all EAware care about is profit, not QoL. So, actually, we're BOTH screwed over here.
