Yeah, except that it's not just an 'MMO'. It's an mmoRPG. It's right in the freaking genre title. And what happens in RPGs? Oh, yeah, you have RP, you have customisation, you have players who give a damn about their characters not looking like Ren-Fair reject abominations, than you very much. Way to be patronising to those of us with some modicum of artistic know-how, who look at the higher level armour designs and stare, as our brain-cells line up to commit mass suicide.

I, for one, don't want appearance tied to gear. Especially not gear with arbitrary, BS level locks on it. City of Heroes (RIP) was the only game I know of that did it right, where you designed your character at level 1 and they looked that way until level 50. Unless, of course, you wanted to change that. Oh, and you had multiple slots for different 'costumes' (it was a Super Hero/Villain game, it made sense) and, while you could unlock certain things that were mission or level specific, the majority of stuff was there at level 1. And it was VERY rare you saw characters looking the same, leading to some cool themed groups and the like.

Unlike here, where the higher levels look like Star Wars and WoW and Final Fantasy woke up after a drunken, raunchy party and realised they'd had a three-way hell-spawn of a child...

If nothing else, your thread here has established that fashion is not irrelevant to MMO players. Just you.

Seeing City of Heroes mentioned made me a little sad R.I.P. But seeing your username gets me wondering if you were the Techbot Alpha from the Union server?... Ah those were the days!

The one and only maniacal machine. Except it was TechbotAlpha after the server merge, after some damn, inactive account US member stole my freaking name space. Not that I was bitter or rage-filled because of that...¬¬

I didn't rob your bank, did I? =P

Is anyone here interested about how your character perform, about character stats, about gameplay itself, about new new content, achievements, world bosses mechanics and such?

Instead we get a ton of posts/threads like "armor looks ugly", " mount and armor clipping issues", "BW, where is that greenish-whitish-blackish etc dyes we wait for sooooo long", "where is that cool looking hat for my scoundrel" etc etc etc.

What is this - a barbie shop? Little girls not happy with their barbies dress color " its too red, we want a bit more orangeish".
Dont we have enough balance problems, bugs, story inconsistencies, computer incompatiblities, cartel market nonsense etc to talk about minor details in looks?
More and more I have a feeling Im in a kindergarten.
The only content you will see in the future can be found in the cartell market. I wouldn't expect new classes, storylines buggfixes or anything to improve the game. Sorry but they stopped caring long time ago.

Even better, looks like my thread touched RP players the most. Just wasnt aware RPers are so passionate about looks.

As I mentioned before, I never understood RP and, I guess, never will. Even red some RP guides and was thinking of trying it, but always had one question w/o answer in mind: Why they do what they do?

Never mind, peace with everyone.

I just regret BW spend so much resources to RP.

Firstly, for the same reason people read comics, or book, or tell stories, or anything that's both creative and to do with characters and plot. It's just a more interactive form of that. Like an animated show that you're helping create. That's the ground-floor jist of it.

Secondly, what fracking resources? Players have been BEGGING for basic RP functionality (ability to sit in seats, chat bubbles, Guild ships etc) since Beta, and next to nothing has come of it. Seats sort of came in...as a terribad emote from one of the random gamble packs. Not, y'know, the seats on your ship (barring three) or in common RP areas (Cantinas, starting planets)
EAware can't make money off RP, so why would they spend any time on us? Oh, right...they don't.

Given how this game is pretty great about letting me do whatever I want with my armor, I see no reason why it shouldn't be a fashion show.

I can have the best gear and the best look at the same time. There's really no reason to stick to armor I don't like.

I somehow agree with you. This is the main downside of F2P as appearance, housing and cosmetics are the easiest monetization that can be done in a game.
While I do agree it is important to offer personalization, gameplay (for all) should always come first.
