Can we get a developer dialogue going on why class stories are not in the cards?

The problem is that the developers have spoken on this issue. If you are going to be closed minded about what they've already said, then no amount of discourse in this thread by anyone will matter.

You seem to think that only a definitive answer by a dev to this specific post will "solve" the issue, but odds are that it won't happen. They seldom have time to repeat themselves.

If you are lucky, you might see a post at some time in the future about the continuation of class stories, but only if they decide to continue class stories.

If they're not going to continue class stories in a direct fashion, someone from BW should at least tell us if they're going to do more with companions, and if they are, what that is. Class stories may not continue, but as I've said countless times, the companion storylines need to continue in some way, and they need to actually speak up during conversations, otherwise, as someone else said before, they just become pets. They need to actually have some kind of role in future storylines and quests.

So... let's let the Devs respond then? I don't see why people have a problem with others asking the devs for a single post specifically on this issue.

Everyone would rather have class story arcs players play to develop their characterd not to play some random clump of polygons. Why help a group of polygons save a planet if they are no faces to the saviors? This a complete copout to hide their incompetance

Really? The only quote I read from the Cantina Tour was Class Stories are not in the cards right now, BUT they are focusing on group story content.

They have yet to explain why this is.

That is what we want dialogue on. Even if the answer is "because we're not telling you," we would like this thread addressed by someone at EA/Bioware.

Two things. First, Dev's can not respond to every single post on a subject just because the poster wants them to. Second, this isn't a personal message center to have one on one dialogue with the Developers.

If a Dev does respond, great. But the OP seems to think that any other discussion on this is a violation of his post somehow. This is a general forum and when you make a post other users of the forum comment on it. That's how it works.

The OP has the option of going to a Cantina event and asking the Dev's in person or using the PM system on the forums and hoping he gets a response if he doesn't want discussion on the topic.

Just wanted to say to Devs that group experience like makeb is not what we want. What we want is continuation of class stories even in Expansion pack we are willing to buy. Group story content like Makeb feels just lame and non personal. There wasnt any word on that my Imp Agent is working for SIS now.....

EDIT: Nevermind about what I said, but yeah, continuing to hope for a response on this subject. (Specifically, as I've said, regarding what i posted earlier about companions)

I completely understand why they are focusing in on the group content for the time being. They reality is that a huge portion of the player base treated this like a single-player game and ran through the class content and then quit the game.

At the time, there wasn't enough end-game content to keep people playing -- and a lot of these people were not experienced MMO players so they didn't really even understand the concept of end-game content. They are approaching the point where there is enough to do to justify an on-going subscription (I'm going to be honest, all the players who stuck around Summer of 2012 deserve some sort of medal because the only reason I did stayed was because I didn't want the property to fail, I was BARELY logging in).

Given this, at some point they may wish to lure those old single-player folks back and expanding the class story in SOME capacity might be a good way to achieve this.

Story was one of the most celebrated features of this game (and arguably the most advertised). I think they can spare some time to talk about it.

We're not asking for them to be our pen pals here.

So commenting on a post asking for the Dev's to comment is ok but making a post asking for the Dev's to comment is not ok? I'm not sure it's suppose to work that way but whatever. Posting to communicate with the Devs I understand. Posting to tell other people not to ask Dev's questions I don't understand.

I know if the Dev's ever came to Ontario, Canada I'd be all over them with questions. Until then I'll have to use the General Forums.

Oh and PMing the Devs? Really?
