That's it bub.
Its up the CONSUMER to decide if the service they get is appropriate for their level of expectation.

Examples:

If you continue to pay/play and don't complain much or don't participate in the forums = you are ok with the level of service as far as Bioware is concerned.

If you cancel your sub/delete char/stop playing = you are NOT ok with the level of service and have decided to move your money elsewhere. As far as Bioware is concerned, this means you are NOT ok with the level of service.

If you continue to pay/play but come to the forums to make suggestions, propose changes = you are ok with the level of service as far as Bioware is concerned.

HERE IS THE TRICKY ONE:

If you continue to pay/play but constantly make complaints/criticism on the forums, make idle threats, etc = you are OK with the level of service as far as Bioware is concerned.

Do you see how that works? Smart consumers spend their money where they want.
That's very black and white and guess what the world isn't?

As I've asserted in my other posts in this thread, If you adopt a hard line approach in business, you have already lost. This game's developers and "combat people" have shown little inclination to fix the various class balance issues which is what the majority of loyal customers care about. Yes the new players are happy just being in the game and playing, and they have catered to these players making the early leveling experience and re-leveling easier and more fun. However, in an MMO your loyal customers are the ones that say to their friends, "come play this game" When you alienate them by saying L2P or not addressing obvious issues like the Assassin tank who is woefully equipped to tank Nightmare modes, it takes whatever fun was left for those year long players away.

So yes, you're right. BW/EA owes us nothing. But in believing that, they will continue to lose subscribers. As for the people who come here to complain. It means they care and like the game, like me. I've decided to take another break from this game when Rome 2 comes out in October. Like others, if they start caring about this game again, I'll take another look.

I completely agree with you OP, you have spoken the truth.

Some people can't accept the fact knowing that paying customers are entitled to put input into the service, by suggestions or complaints etc. Without the customer, there is no game, therefore we are entitled to speak our minds about the game and the service.

So you're basically saying that Bioware doesn't care what you think as long as they're getting your money?

Its not black and white at all. In fact, I am very "grey" person in real life but this is the business world this is how it works. Paying money = satisfied customer.

I'm not here to DEFEND bioware. I'm here to tell you how they see it. You can complain until we run out of oxygen but it doesn't make a lick of difference if you keep pumping money into something.

Point being, most extreme complaints and threatening posts of the forums are nothing more than lip service from people with too much time on their hands.

Bioware, as a business, has to keep the product fresh and new or people will move on. THEY ALREADY KNOW THAT. I think that's the part you don't understand they already know. They already know they have to keep the game balanced. They know they need to fix class issues...BUT....but...

Many times their idea of balance is not the player's idea and they conflict. They have stated this many times. Its up to YOU to decide if you pay or not.

The problem we all have here is, neither side is right. As with any group of human beings, game companies make some good decisions, and some bad ones. The best we can all do is for those who enjoy the game to stay, and those who don't to move on to a different game where they will enjoy themselves more.
Reminder: Mechanized posting is for non-trolling business only. Enjoy your stay.
