Ah, this old chestnut.

If your sense of achievement (because you share the same requisites in life for feeling achieved with precisely no other member of your species) takes a dramatic body-blow because of how you acquired a collection of pixels in a game with arbitrarily determined rules for how hard or easy something is, I'm not so much concerned with the fact that you're not happy in this situation as the likelihood that you will never be happy, in any situation. EVER.

There is nothing particularly wrong with visual progression. There is something wrong with stomping out individuality and creativity in appearance for the sake of visual progression restrictions. That was the point.
....
Really? I wasn't aware that "visual progression" was a design concept. They were more inept that I had thought.

At any rate, I feel that the game should provide many forms of feeling like you have achieved something without restricting one very popular concept with the likely target audience for this game...the ability to look the way you want.

Maybee you should look up projection.thats obviously what your doing. Some ppl like to go to cities you know thats the place more than showing off is done. I would consider doing a hard raid for gear more of an aacomplishment than remebering to wipe like you but obviously its individualistic

Now that aspect is gone and people like the OP complain because they can no longer stroke their e-peen.

I say good riddance!!!

I don't even know where to begin with this thread.

Why would someone else's acquirement of certain gear affect the way you acquired it.

If you feel like you achieved something great by spending so much time grinding to get a piece of gear...then it shouldn't matter that someone else got said gear with CC. Their purchase doesn't take away what you did.

Why do you want gear to be "strived" for? It's so much better to be able to wear what you want to wear, when you want to wear it...in my opinion.

Also, in a game that uses the F2P model...you should be happy that people are spending actual money to get in-game items. Their money is helping the game.

I suspect we'll see some subscriber-only legendary quests eventually. I'd love to see some very hard to acquire, visually unique weapons, and there are signs that there may indeed be some unique items coming soon (check dulfy's 2.4 images from the cantina tour).

I think unlike you apparently, most people look at the someones gear and check their MODs.

There are things you can only get by doing OPs which are unique, most people understand that Fluff form CM is a way of getting the look you want.

I spent 2 weeks with a guildie trying to get a pristine Body Armour to drop in HM FP, so it's all relative to what look an individual wants, yes you can buy it on the CM but there is still a lot of unique gear you can only get one way.

So the FACT is your wrong, if you want a Pristine Body Armour you HAVE to run bloody hundreds of HM FP

So stop your jibajaba fool
Reading the Forum, just shows how stupid some people are. Which probably includes me for getting involved

And even in Cartel Market gear, the achievement still stands you have the mods, enhancements, barrel and armor to show you completed the achievement and got lucky with some rolls, you cannot buy those on the cartel market and you can't even buy the set bonus for lower level or the high end gear on the GTN at all. If people really care they can even inspect achievements,

I never inspect achievements and only inspect gear when I am a raid leader because frankly even if they printed other achievements on their toons forehead, I would never read them. I could careless about others achievements or how they got them, more than willing to help someone get one, but I don't care if they have it or not. It means nothing to me. I could also careless that others know my achievements and would turn off the thing that allows them to inspect mine if I could. While I enjoy doing them or doing Operations, I don't feel the need to shout it out on top of the Senate Building, my guild, group members and raid leaders know what I can do, and that is all that concerns me. Even when I end up doing something with another group, I don't brag about what I have done, I just say I know the fights and know my abilities, they can either let me prove it or kick me, don't really care since any group that I have healed has always invited me back, so I can always find a group.

Ok thanks for your one example of one peice of armor cause thats enough for me im glad they made it look so cool.. Not

I want to know what planet your from in which spending money to have gear gifted to you is as much an ahievment as as spending tons of time to acquire a unique piece
