Is it time to retire Classic Coms and bring the other raids in line with the top end?

Then scale down the level 66 purples to support level 50. problem solved. Plus it fills in the void of the classic coms.

But thank you for that nugget, though snide, because its this sort of feedback that does help me refine the idea.

Cliff Notes if you need them:

Story Mode Karraga's Palace, Eternity Vault, Explosive Conflict:
  • Level 50 (thus accessible to people who don't have expansion)
  • Basic Coms Granted
  • Gear Drops are Rating 66 Purple Artifact Gear

Hard Mode Karraga's Palace, Eternity Vault, Explosive Conflict:
  • Level 55
  • Elite Coms Granted
  • Gear Drops are Rating 69 Purple Arkanian and Black Market Gear
  • Difficulty on par with Story Mode Terror From Beyond and Scum & Villany

Nightmare Mode Karraga's Palace, Eternity Vault, Explosive Conflict:
  • Level 55
  • Elite Coms Granted
  • Gear Drops are Rating 72 Purple Gear
  • Difficulty on par with Hard Mode Terror From Beyond and Scum & Villany

Hope that helps as the discussion goes further.
Change it to:

Story is 50 and drops Classic comms and Campaign gear.
Hard is 50 and drops Classic comms and Dread Guard gear.
Nightmare is 55 and drops Basic comms and Artifact (66) gear.

And then I would be OK with it.
Unsubscribed due to no new Operations.
I am happy that there will be a renewed focus on story, I love story, its why I picked this MMO. But I picked an MMO, not an episodic single player RPG that I have to pay a subscription to receive the episodes.

i think there could be something where they could be scaled to 50 or 55, depending on the group (IE, anyone under 55, it automatically scales to 50. this would intrinsically include anyone without the expansion.)

i have run them a few times since hitting 50, but it's more of a novelty for me, remembering 'way back when' and whatever, not really a challenge

Oft times, they are juggling many things at once, so its a bit unfair to think of their development as something done in a linear fashion - call it a lession I learned from a previous MMO I played, where the same arguments were had, and just as false in that regard.
Ultimately it's up to BioWare how they want to spend their resources designing content. I get some people would like them to spend time making sure old stuff is still relevant at new caps, I just happen to not be one of those people. At least, not when it comes to redoing the fights themselves at different level ranges. Just putting newer comms on them is sufficient to me and seems like a minimal amount of effort. I'd much rather see quicker newer raids than slower ones because they need to bump up old stuff.

My point is that it doesnt have to be either/or. they still can endeavor to strike a balance and do both over a developmental cycle.

No matter how you look at it, no matter how much time you think it does or does not take to rebalance new raids, the fact remains that it does take time to rebalance new raids, and that time takes away time that could be spent making new raids.

That is a very poor trade off.

Give us new stuff. The old stuff is always going to be there if you want to go run it.

The problem is your naivete in thinking that they aren't already balancing making new content while consistantly balancing the game. And they've done a reshuffling before, so it isn't unprescedented.

I would be glad to see the Nightmare versions of EV/KP/EC re balanced and drop a non set bonus/alternate set of Kell Dragon.

No SM/HM though.

That's a very black and white way of looking at a grey issue. Would you have been OK with only having one relevant operation when 2.0 hit? I wouldn't be. Only having S&V to do would have been a lot worse than having both TFB and S&V. Between TFB and the original 55 flashpoints they clearly feel that sometimes it's worth the trade off to update old content, and I would agree with that. I would like to see the old ops become at least partially relevant in the current state of things.

Nope. Really, I see the merit in your arguement. This content should be relevant to 55. Ask yourself why though.

Bioware bumped TFB up and pushed S&V out to justify a cash grab on ROTHC. Now the problem arises where people realize the lack of real content in this "teir"?

It was lazy to just re balance TFB. Also, consider the fact that a returning player who subbed in the past and cleared TFB at lvl 50 can't even enter the instance now....hilarious. Honestly a big joke.

The reality is, NEW CONTENT OF ALL VARIETIES IS NEEDED ATM. Not just a new companion and a couple of flash points.....a REAL expansion.
